why won't the cost go down: didn't say it wouldn't. the most logical step would be through a slim model.

RSX and CELL size reduction would help alot: agreed but we have more reports of a new PSthree the new chip sizes.

die size reduction: agreed the only way for a significat price cut.

volume manufacturing: i'm sure there will be an increase in volume with price cuts and and cost of manufacturing down.

follow the price reduction from PS3's launch and you will understand: the price reduction over the yrs is the only bad point you've made nobi. the price reductions came inpart by a need to sale consoles, not because Sony needed to so that point holds no weight. we don't have a pattern for Sony to go by.

 

PS3 was making under $10 profit at $299 price in Q1(Jan-Mar2010) last year,it was mentioned by CFO of SONY.after that they had RSX size reduction.alot of PS3 have been manufactured since then so parts becoming common hence cheaper.the recent die reduction in new PS3 which took it from 3.2kg to 2.6kg: so we're looking at $20 to $50 a console? do you think Sony is willing to take a lose on PS3 now? next yr looks to be the best time and Sony would likely break even with a price drop to $199 next yr. so 2014 still looks to be the yr for a $149 pricedrop and a PS4 launch, or a pricedrop to $199 2012 then one to $149 in 2013 for either a PS4 launch in 2014 or 2013.

and we still have 1 year before september 2011: i know you mean 2012 or do you mean 1 month? whts so special about 2012 if your talking about 2012. if you do mean 2011 september, i know we have alot of goodies to look forward to which should help sale the PS3. are you tiking the pricedrop will come in september?

Thats it i officially hate SE until FFVs actually gets released it can ever forget getting any $$ from me until that day, i am fed up of them proiritising trash over to be what looks like one of the best hd rpgs they have made in a decade.
I think its time for all FFVs Fans to come together and do a friendly strike and show them just how much interest we have in this game, maybe that way they might actually pay attention.....

Well, I have to agree with that... Not that I am expecting versus for wiiU (not at all), actually I am only waiting for FFVI for the 3ds... Thanks God, Horii still owns DQ otherwise we could be still waiting for DQIX...

 Talking about DQ, I cannt wait to see the DQX trailer....

Considering SE is going to release the same number of FFs like during the PS1-2 era, it's just fine with me. They were mum about FFVersus13, it's just bound to happen that there's going to be no news for versus on TGS.Probably, it's going to be release next year so it won't compete with FFXIII-2. And I don't get some of the PS3 fans here thinks the games should be released on their supported platform? Let's be real here. guys, they aren't in a position to make a risk, Xbox360 added sales for FFXIII that jumped their sales to 6M. Don't be selfish just because the game was promise to be an exclusive. Are you that insecure that PS3 is gonna lose an exclusive? Tbh, I'm not even going to be surprised if DQX is going to PS3 as a late port. There maybe delays but you can't blame it all on SE with all the stuff that happened to Japan. It's just so hypocritical for some of you to desire a multiplatform release and not trade for one of yours. No wonder PS3 fanboys on the internet are among the worst. They are just so afraid to lose.

The problem is that Square Enix has promised it from the beginning of time, so it would look very bad for them if they decided to go against their repeated promises.

Times have changed. PS3 isn't the same juggernaut that was PS2 last gen. They were hit by problems. I fail to see a multiplatform game killing it for many besides a delay to be brought by porting the game.

I'm pretty sure if Xbox360 or Wii loses an exclusive, they'd just shrug it off like dust on their shoulders, While the ps3 players are...

I think we all know by now that some PS3 fanatics wouldn't want their exclusives going multiplatform, it's probably because they've known them from PS1-PS2 era like they think they owned them not thinking they either started out from another console, some of them even attacking developers for becoming third party, which is completely pathetic, as if they've bought enough copies to guarantee them they'll remain as an IP. If you think Xbox360 folks are just as worse as the PS3 crowd, man, you are delusional. I'm sure there would be bitching on their part if they lose an exclusive, but they wouldn't bitch as hard as the PS3 fanboys.

Eh, why are you so sure of that? Because there are more PS3 fans on the most popular gaming websites?

I think most were angry with Square enix when they delayed the PS3 version of FFXIII just to release it at the same time as the 360 version in the west. Now, if they released it when it's complete on the PS3 and then maybe a year later on the 360, most peope wouldn't mind (a la Bioshock/Mass Effect 2, although they were never exclusive per se)


user base is not as big for Bioshock/Mass Effect 2 hence less winging, trust me both sides are as bad as each other exclusives are what makes a console, end of story, just remember ff user base is up to around 7-10million...
