There are no protesters.

Not in this situation. I was talking about other potential situations in the future.

I doubt that will happen as there is a large different between a protest and a riot. The change in laws will cover rioters not peaceful protests.

Dunno, but in communist Romania (and beyond) there wasn't really a difference between the two.

Three men died after being mown down by a car as they protected their neighbourhood from rioters in the early hours of the morning.

The trio - named locally as Shazad Hussain, Haroon Hussain and Musaver Ali - had emerged from a mosque shortly before they were knocked down by the hit-and-run driver in Birmingham.

The men were reportedly standing on the pavement when they were hit. Today, a 32-year-old man was being questioned on suspicion of murder.

Islamophobia?

I wish the USA would send some of our riot cops. We don't even need guns. Just give us a shield and a baton or a nightstick and we're ready to go. I've been seeing riot cops running away from rioters.

It were just 3 men protecting their shops.  The driver could have hit anyone so far their is no word that he hit muslims on purpose.

This is england we have no guns plus my parent arent letting us out i miss work 2morrow :(

Update: motorways, and other transport links to city centre blocked only one train operational

Clearly gun control works, people can't even defend their cities and homes.

oh yeah a country with a gun or two in every houshold like in the states is so much better. let's look how many people in the states die with a gun...oh yeah a much better system but hey they can defend their cities and homes lol.

i won't know how many housholdrs die every year because they have a gun and try to shoot the burglar who has a gun as well and win the wild west story.

i have no gun what will i do if their will be someone in my hosue? i will let him steal all and will get my financial damage balanced by the insurance.

Wow, slow down there Rambo, no need overreact and get so angry and brutaly violent. I mean, its not like the robbers can harm one of your family members and rape them

I love how some people think the rioting would be better if everyone had guns. Do you know who that would mean also have guns? The rioters.

I read two articles today saying that it seems that it was on purpose, not an accident. And if it was on purpose, islamophobia seems plausible I think.

Anyway, since most of these children are probably drunk while rioting, what about banning alcohol for a couple of days? And why don't they do a dusk-to-dawn curfew in certain areas?

Update: most transport is running around birmingham.

3 people were killed in a hit and run while defending their property in bham

The PM said water cannons will now be availble within 24hrs notice

People in enfield and other places have started aiding the police and defending their neigbourhoods now there are FB groups for birmingham. Check this out! http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/event.php?eid=196519763743905&notif_t=event_invite
Id love to be there but unfortunately bieng 15 my parents would never permit it but if you can go please do so we need to unite against these idiots and put a stop to this rioting.

Areas now affected by riots: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Leicester, Glostershire, Greater Manchester, Notthingham and there are many more smaller disturbances nationwide
