It would be nice if it was true that discrimination was eliminated here. I live in Cologne/Germany, which is a city with a high percentage of gay inhabitants and is often praised for it's tolerance, which for the most part is true. It's also true that in recent years attacks - verbal and physical - started to rise again. So it's not only the laws that have to change, but also the minds of people. If a group of people try to turn back the advancements of recent years, then the desired standard isn't reached.

The market slavery as we know it was created by africans though. It was a very difficult operation which involved building fortresses in the african coastline and careful negotiations with the local leaders and kings, who were actually the ones who sold criminals and mainly tribal war prisioners as slaves. If you weren't any smart you could even end up as their slave. There's more than one report of white men being enslaved by african kings due to debts and so on.

And that's without mentioning that, at least in SA, most slave owners had only one or two slaves... which all went to work together and eat in the same table. Slave owners leaving all their inheritance to ex-slaves. Free slaves who actually try to get money to buy slaves as one of the first things once they are free. 

All of that in top of the hundreds of thousands of europeans who were enslaved by arabian muslims and no one ever mentions it. At the risk of sounding white, old, conservative, christian and straight, you can find a lot of interesting stuff once you go below the usual marxist, revisionist historian.

PS. and that stuff of "oh, but poor black people, they were enslaved in the past!" is fallacious and downright BS man. Or are we know going to blame the current japanese and german armies for what happened in the second war? Truman descendants for the orders on little boy and fat man? Soon enough someone in Iran will blame the mongols and demand compensation for the millions dead in persia back on the days of Gengis Khan... like I mentioned in other thread, RL shouldn't be a fucking museum to live drenched on past deals and deeds.

P.P.S - ot - the whole straight parade is just BS as it is the gay parades. Lots of them are only a bunch of hypocrites that travel to come out of the closet in the middle of everyone else and have no real courage to do anything on daily lives. And denying gays equality IS the main reason why they've been excluded from major areas of society (such as marriage). Marriage in it's current form is discriminative, and the ones who want to maintain 'traditions' are exactly the people who want to exclude gays from society and marginalize them.

Not really. White people are already accepted. They actually make up the majority of society. Same with heterosexuals. There doesn't need to be a 'WET', because there are several of them (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox etc.).

3. What's the relevance of this? Does it in any way make whites look better? Gypsies were enslaved in Romania, and that is almost never mentioned. Heck, I didn't even hear of that 'till college. History classes over here simply do not mention that Gypsies were enslaved by Romanians for centuries.

Whites created a whole discourse, allegedly supported by science, that said that blacks were subhuman, and thus it was justified for them to be used as slaves. Being slaves was considered 'beneficial' to them. I don't think many slave owning populations stooped so low.

5. Did you know that the Japanese do not really recongize their attrocities durign WWII? Do you know that they actually have an altar in China dedicated to honoring the monsters who commited attrocities over there as martyrs? Do you know that in the past decade Japanese schools books have been revisioned, as a result of actions from righ wingers, and have seriously watered down the attrocities they commited, because the truth allegedly hurts 'national pride'? The countries that started WWII still haven't fully recognized their fault.

And you celebrate your heterosexuality every day, and in several special days (Valentine's Day etc.). Unlike persecuted groups, such as gays, affirming your 'pride' in your heterosexuality is just a pleonasm (heterosexuals are by definition a celebrated group).
