Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft: Wii U makes shooters easier to control

Ubisoft as the lead 3rd party Wii U developer and with a stock price almost as bad as nintendo's, is trying to drum up hardcore support for the Wii U by focusing on the genre that most hardcore fans play, I'm sure a lot of FPS fans are not buying what they are selling.

shooting might be easier but moving around won't, in any game where dodging bullet is as important as shooting people, it wont be so great

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Hardcore, you say? Strange, I thought that most FPS fans are actually casual players. It's probably one of the best-selling genres along with party games and maybe rhytm games, after all.

The quickest, easiest and most effective way to turn around in a game has already been done, that game was Mirror's Edge, they mapped turning around 180 to a button... and had analogue or mouse(pc version) for other degree turns

The Wii U setup can be superior to HD consoles when you're trying to aim the gun slightly in one direction. It's the turning around that's inferior. If devs can work around that, then I don't see a problem.

Lets call 'hardcore' this time. It won't hurt anyone, right?

yeah... turning your whole body around is easier than simply holding an analog stick to the side...

Well it is for most people. Most people turn around by turning around not by pressing a stick. I like the idea myself. The difference to the wiimote is obvious. There you turn around by sitting still and pushing the screen with a shift of the hand to the left or right. Turning your whole body because your extra screen is attached to your wii zapper is clearly going to be better, though more tiring. So the option to sit and play using the sticks is required. Might work really well

So tilting your entire body to the left is  more intuitive, responsive and accurate than tilting your thumb to the left?

i am eager to see actual game play results of games on the wii u to see what it can do, and i know i will support the system with my money. i happy though to see alot more interest from 3rd party companies with actual hardcore game support. i will keep my eye on there game
