Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will the price cut cause you to buy a 3DS? (Non 3DS owners)

Is the price cut enough to cause you to purchase a 3DS?

Yes, at this price I will... 61 33.70%

No, the price should stil... 70 38.67%

I already own a 3DS, but ... 50 27.62%

Total:181

I had been contemplating buying a DSiXL (I think that acronym is right...) for my son, prior to the announcement. After the announcement of the upcoming price cut and ambassador program...well as Best Buy has a 30-day price match program, I went ahead and bought him a black 3DS instead.

Now, I'll get the ambassador gift games, and still get my $70 bucks back when it goes on sale.

I am not really interested in handhelds for myself though and have no intention of buying a PSV though, so I wont comment on any bang for buck comparison.

nope.

1. not really a big hand-held gamer to being will, i like my home consoles much better.
2. the 3D makes me feel nauseous
3. i still have bad feeling towards nintendo from the wii disaster. i no longer have faith in their promises, direction, or games. they need to prove themselves and then some before i'll buy another of their products.

Yes because Nintendo makes a loss on every sale.

No ill still pass.

this,

i agree with it all. im not a big hand held gamer only because i haven't had one since the GBA haha. would have loved to own a DS but due to money and the fact that my ps3 is plenty for me i just didnt have time to get one. I dont like the fact that there is a warning because of the 3d and that when i play it for 15min it starts to hurt my eyes. 3d is a huge gimmic and dont really care for it.  nintendo really needs to prove themselves from the terrible terrible wii this gen, making me really iffy if i should even waste time or money on them at all.

from a nintendo fan who has had all nintendo consoles but the wii and a few handhelds, i am really dissapointed in them.

i must add that even though the price is pretty good its still not enough to warrant a purchase. their are just no games. maybe in the future once the 3ds get alot of killer games i'll think about it but as of now im leaning more towards vita and honestly one handheld is enough. if nintendo convinced capcom to start back up production on megaman legends 3....then that would be a day one purchase.

No, battery life is too short, price is 20 dollars higher than I am willing to pay for a handheld, and still no 2 required good games to buy it.

The first one will require a Hardware revision
The second one will take some time
The third game will be fixed on december

So not buying the console till at least holiday 2012.

No.
1) Not enough games I would want to buy.
2) I'm still waiting for 3DS lite.

the Nintendo fan in me says where are the first party games but the Sony fan in me says where are the innovative IP.

look Sony with Vita are already near half way to my next gen requirements of 20 mew innovative IP with nothing i've seen before(some restrictions do apply and also IP that can be found on home consoles are also exempt and are not considered in the purchase of PSP 3DS or any other handheld being manufactured so that means neither Uncharted nore Mario will be considered in the purchase of either handheld).

its about support and as it stands even with the price drop i see no reason to buy 3DS and as for Vita i will not purchase a handheld that cost the same as my home console!
