Disclaimer -I don't know if this has been done yet, I looked back three pages and didn't see a poll or question similiar to mine. Sorry in advance if I missed it I've been gone for a month so I'm not really sure that this question hasn't been asked.

The question is simple I remember when 3DS launched talking to tons of users here on VGChartz about whether they would be purchasing a 3DS. I of course being a massive Nintendo fan was sold and their were other loyal consumers across VGChartz. However I ran into a tons of VGChartz users who were not going to buy 3DS.

Some consumers said with Vita launching at a similiar price they were going to go with Sony, they said Sony offered more bang for their buck. Sony was innovating in a few ways adding new features never seen before on a mainstream handheld games console. 3DS only really added 3D to the picture and some VGChartz users weren't satisfied. However with 3DS only going to be 169.99$ is that enough bang for your buck? If you were going to go with Vita which is almost 300$ does Nintendo pricing 3DS at nearly half that price weigh in to your decision? Has your outlook on 3DS versus Vita changed? Or do you still think Vita's price is reasonable and worth the investment where as 3DS at such a cheap price is still not?

How about the other Nintendo fans here on VGChartz, I remember many fans here saying they were waiting for the price to go down, or saying they were going to skip out on 3DS due to the high price. Now that Nintendo has cut the price so drastically is that going to weigh into your decision? With such a low price are you now going to purchase a 3DS? Is the price good enough now for you? Or do you still think the price is too high?

One last factor in on this price cut and question. Games, many VGChartz users said they wouldn't pay 250$ for a console with no games, at 169.99$ does that change your decision? Also with so many great first party titles still coming is that enough content for you to justify paying 169.99$? Those of you wanting online content, is the ambassador program worth the 250$ or reduced price you can buy a 3DS for prior to August 11th? Are the games enough to motivate you to purchase a 3DS?

I really want to know opinions from VGChartz users who don't already own 3DS, does the price cut announcement and ambassador program sway you to purchase a 3DS? Will you now be purchasing one?

Should be an option: "Yes, price is right; just waiting on right game."

Once Paper Mario releases, I may not have a choice. :P

Neither option is required.

Yes the price is right, just waiting for the right game - that is a yes. You are going to buy the console for that price 169.99$ sure your waiting for a game but this poll was not asking anything about the right game. Its simply asking if the price is satisfactory and going to influence you to buy the console. As such "Wait for the right game" isn't required since the price is right for you and you will be purchasing the console.

As for the see results option, it also isn't required. If you own a 3DS their is the option to see the results. if you don't own a 3DS either your going to buy one at 169.99$ or your not. That is the question, if you don't intend to buy one at the lower price then hit no. If you do think your going to buy one at that lower price hit yes. Then you will see the results. No need for a see results as the question is all encompassing.

Either your buying a 3DS at the lower cost, not buying the 3DS at the lower cost or already own one. No further options are really needed. If you think one still is please explain the logic behind its requirment. I think I included all the results required!

"Sony was innovating in a few ways adding new features never seen before on a mainstream handheld games console. 3DS only really added 3D to the picture" - so Sony has added new features "never seen before on a mainstream handheld" while all Nintendo added was 3D? Well... Let's just say I strongly disagree.

OT, no matter what the results of the poll will be, they will have less people voting "yes, at this price" than if it was a poll of a random group of potential handheld buyers - this being a gamer site, there will be more people who held off because of lack of this or that game and not because of price.

Well I wouldn't say Nintendo didn't add much to the handheld industry. Obviously they built it but their defining hardware feature is the 3D and the PS Vita has many more defining features rather then one main one. The gyro's Nintendo has done before, the camera Nintendo has done before, the analog controls Sony did last gen. Nintendo did innovate tons on the software side with things like Augmented reality etc...etc.. but in all the main selling feature of 3DS is 3D and that is the biggest contributing factor in its success.

As for this poll being biased. Its a poll of gamers if I asked this to just random people off the street half wouldn't even know what a 3DS is due to Nintendo's lack of advertising. This thread is doing exactly what I wanted I wanted to know how many gamers here on VGChartz who said they would not buy 3DS due to the high price, will change their minds due to the lower price. See just what the gamers think of this price cut will it change their minds and influence their purchase.

The whole games thing might be a factor. However this thread wasn't made to discuss the games just the price and if at this price point would VGChartz users purchase a 3DS. Do VGChartz users think that 169.99$ is a fair price and worth the purchase. The thread shows that over two thirds of VGChartz users think 169.99$ is a fair price and will or have already purchased a 3DS!

As soon as that mainstream pokemon game hits the 3ds, consider the 3ds bought. I don't care if there's no other game on it.
