Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Top 10 Games From The 90's

I will be showing my top 10 games from the 90's. This is just my opinion so dont get sensetitve.  :)

I also wanted to make this list as FAIR as possible,  so when I chose these ten, it had to be more than just about personal taste. Aside from considering their basic attributes (gameplay, design, etc.), I also thought about critical response, popularity, impact on the industry, and other key factors. Trust me, this wasn't easy, and yet I'm still leaving you the option of flaming me for not including your favorites. =D   (Please Read the rules also when naming your top 10)

Rules/Restrictions

- Games must have been released between January 1990 - December 1999

I think your list sucks.

Here's mine, using the same rules, but in no particular order:

Super Metroid
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Mario World
F-Zero X
Super Mario 64
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
Secret of Mana
Alundra
Banjo-Kazooie
Super Mario Kart

he clearly stated that's his opinon. Anyways his list is a lot better to yours in my opinon

6. Super Mario world 2: Yoshis Island
5. Mortal Kombat 2

Totally respect your thread and your rules, but I just don't get the "only one game per franchise" condition, other than to embrace variety. It reminds me of IGN's top 100 list a few weeks back...

I just can't make an honest list of what I feel are the best games of the '90s without including both Zelda: ALttP and Zelda: OoT, and Super Mario World, SMW2 and Super Mario 64.

Zelda is an issue, but the three games starring Mario are of three different series.

I get what you're saying and I don't totally disagree (even considered that point myself), but Yoshi's Island for SNES is still "Super Mario World 2" and they're all still widely regarded as Mario's platform evolution.  The fact that they vary so much from each other in gameplay is just one thing I find appealing about them.  I mean, Zelda 1 is vastly different from Zelda 2, but they're both still "The Legend of Zelda".

I am never good in making top ten lists. I can make one now and next week I think my lists sucks. Someone mentioned Dino Crisis today and because it was one of those PS one games that I enjoyed a lot I would put it today in my top ten list but if this thread was made next week I probably come up with top ten list withought Dino Crisis.
