@Killeryoshis, really? You liked the water dungeon that much? To me, it was nice but tiring. Too large and most elements were repeated till I got tired of them. Did you play the water dungeon in Majora's Mask? As I said earlier, it's the best water dungeon I've ever played.

I only got to the second dungeon and didn't get past that. I jut like the water dungeon because I like the ability of getting the water level up as it felt like I was fixing something and the the enemies fun to play with

(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

the sky temple from twilight was pretty cool.

This and Hyrule Castle were my worst dungeons in TP. The City in the Sky was too slowly paced(hanging onto a slowly rotating fan waiting to clawshot unto the next slowly rotating fan). It was actually a nice dungeon but it was too slowly paced. Hyrule Castle had a nice outdoors effect but was too grey and slowly paced.

So far it seems The Stonehedge Temple from Majora's Mask, Ganons Tower from aLttP, The Temple of Time, Twilight Castle and Water Temple from Twilight Princess and Ganon's Castle in Ocarina of Time have gotten the most mentions. I think I'll actually count and post the top ten when people stop posting.

This thread isn't getting enough traffic. I know, it needs a little Khuutra on it! And Rolstoppable, while I'm at it.

Water, Snow and Stone Temple from MM,
Water Temple from OoT
Sky Temple from TP are some of my favorites.

Temple of Time from TP sucks ass. There were a lot of promising puzzle elements, but they were used in a way so you could run through the whole temple with your brain switched off. Biggest disappointment.

I do not have a favorite "list" of items. I like many different dungeons for different reasons. However, if I were to mention one, it would be the single most underrated and misunderstood dungeon in the series.

The Temple of the Ocean King

Never before has a Zelda dungeon been as well implemented from a thematic, storyline or design perspective. What, indeed, can be told of the villain which isn't implicit in the conceptual design of his lair? The inexorability of its design - the very thing people were bothered by - is the greatest source of its strength. Each visit brings new stratagems to the table, and each change the play experience in significant ways. Completing the temple is a game unto itself, and by far one of the most worthwhile times I have had with a Zelda title. I would go so far as to say that the placement of pots* alone is proof of how well thought out the design is.

*Do you know how useful they are? Or how astute one's planning has to be to make full use of them?

One of the primary reasons I am so excited about Skyward Sword is that it promises to implement some of the greatest elements from that dungeon.

I had a more love/hate relationship with that temple than most, but i felt it really came together closer to the end of the game, when suddenly you could take all sorts of shortcuts through it with the items you had, almost Metroidian in design, and thus quite compelling, but early on it was just aggravating

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Mr Khan: I agree the temple truly comes into its own at the end, but what I like most about it is the sense of progression it has about it; every Zelda makes a point out of Link growing as a Hero, but here that growth is actually captured in a single dungeon.

Rol: Heh. Well, I study games academically, am a relativist/existentialist, and listen to The Flower Kings. Make of that what you will.
