if you read all of the analysis shown and not just the headline (which is a very curious one... "contender"?  that analysist is an idiot and needs English lessons) its all very balanced and actually debunks the replacement 360's bollocks we always hear particularly in these forums.

He should just have said, the PS3 could take second place, which i agree with.. 

The use of the word contender is wrong.    ONLY the PS3 can "TAKE" second place.

Perhaps its just some american messing up the English language again?  I dunno...


Yep, if you were right, a possibly more appropriate word could be "challenger". But you're wrong! Or better, you just failed to get it, there isn't just one challenger, but two contenders, actually. In fact, recently, Wii too started trying to take second place from XB360.

Wait a second................so if Vgchartz has it at 18% where are they getting a 10% difference in this article? Is Vgchartz overtracking PS3 then?

And anyways 360 is going to win during the holidays this year I'm sure of it so what really matters in terms of winning this year is whether the amount that Sony outselld MS during the rest of the year is more than 360 sells from end of September - December.

Either VGC is overtracking PS3, or this doesn't count countries outside of NA, Europe and Japan.

I guess we will see when Sony release the numbers.

Alot of people keep saying 360 will beat out PS3 this holiday either ww or in the US cause there looking at last holidays success with Kinect.
Now i am not saying PS3 will outsell 360 in the US this holiday but they might make a run at it. The year before Kinect, PS3 got a price drop and outsold 360 in the US in the biggest month of the year. If another price drop happens, it could get interesting.

I think 360 has the holidays on lock down. The people who go out and spend during holidays are casual consumers. Kinect is going to get a massive holiday push and games like Kinect Sports 2, Dance Central 2, and the rest of the Kinect lineup are going to push more hardware then stuff like Resistance 3, Twisted Metal, etc. Not to mention you've got Gears which though is a Core game is so big that its gonna push some hardware and historically 360 benefits more than PS3 does from multi-plats so MW3 and Battlefield 3 are only going to push 360 hardware higher.

When all is said and don't I'm not sure who will sell more for the overall year but I'm pretty sure 360 wins the holidays.

MS had all that last year and Sony had alot less then they do this year, and they tied in shipment slaes holiday last year so what makes you think MS can win this year?

Not in Holiday 2009 they didn't, cause they had shortages for several months after that..
