Forums - Sony Discussion - do sony fans hate the xbox more so than other console fans hate the competition??

At the beginning of the generation, MS looked like they were really going to cater to jRPG fans like myself with Mistwalker. I never thought about buying an Xbox or Xbox 360 because I don't care for shooters. However, right before Blue Dragon came out, I decided to get one while the PS3 was slow to get things moving in terms of games.

Then MS just suddenly pulled out of the jRPG market when they cancelled Cry On (a game I was very much looking forward to in the lineup). Now they are back to shooters again with the new addition of the casual Kinect games. Both are genres I could care less about. PS3 has all the 3rd party games plus first party stuff that actually interests me.

That being said, I will still get an Xbox 360 next price drop just to have a machine for Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey because ToV doesn't look like it's making it to PS3 in English

Well i like the xbox 360 and the ps3, i love most of the games the 360 has to offer the only games i don't like for the 360 are fable and forza, for the ps3 i like God of war 3 and motorstorm maybe dust 514.

i was waiting to see an updated post from you in your thread.

you named some games you don't like on 360 but fail'd to name some ya do.

i'm a GEAR head for 360 and God of War is always a treat, but my sentral posting history is mostly for Sony. this thread got heated while you were gone.

i love the Gears series, halo, Alan wake,Pgr 3,Shadowrun,Mass effect,Metro 2033. i use to hate halo but now i love it.

i think i'm starting to find that same peace with HALO. HALO e seems to plat as well as REACH but as for the first 2 HALO'S i really didn't like them at all.

P.S. did you get the answer you seeked when starting this thread and wht did you learn/take from it?

I never played a Halo game until 3 but i finally started to like the game, i did get my answer, i learned a couple of things but most of the answers were mixed, any who i have both systems and i like them both. i never had a xbox until the 360, the game that got me hooked was gears of war 1.

yea same here i originaly joined in 08 as well(forgot my login and just never bother'd to comeback cause well you know) and it was just unbareable to watch so instead of reading post i just checked the numbers and left.

Its because of the PS1 and PS2 days. It made all sony fans cocky and thinking that their opinion of sony consoles being the best were the majority held opinion.

Now they gotta deal with not being 2nd place but last place........from a console that has a high failure rate and doesnt sell well in japan. MS effectively stole sonys 3rd party exclusive contracts that were made in the ps2 days and has the arguably best online network of the 3 consoles, pay to play or not.

Long story short.........their king has fallen and they cant deal with their thunder being stolen.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

i tell ya wht i learned and thats the reason why i never enter a thread with a title like that. it was a toned down version of 2008.

well then i lost my login, but now i know the truth.

i was just a gamer with anger management issues that didn't want anyone to tell me wht to do and now i'm a much more mellow person that doesn't stress causei can't handle it well.

i didn't want to make a thread to cause flaming or anything but i always see ps3 fans bashing the xbox console like the rrod and there few 1 party games and such.

I have both an xbox and a ps3 but I play my xbox more. There are really only 3 reasons for that. I prefer xbox controller, I prefer the user interface and I like gears of war. That is all. I have no allegiance to any brand. If those three features were transplanted to ps3 I would play ps3 more. I'd have to agree with this. Though I've learnt so much on this site since I came here, and my enamoring of Nintendo has decrease for the better. I still love them though, just with a little more reason and openness to alternatives.

I also agree that Sony's PR methods (bashing) does translate in its gamers. It's really sad to hear the PR arguments reused by the fans. I keep in mind the anti-Nintendo ones, but I would just assume it goes both ways.

For the better, Sony has been humbled, before it Nintendo was humbled. Now the playing field is much more even. Some areas of the market decreased for the worse, it's sad: JRPGs, niche games, new IPs. But hopefully that will change as the market puts less focus on $$$ and more focus on games as an art form (a bit like the road movies traveled). Hopefully that will reduce phenomenon like 3rd parties snobbing the Wii because it was SD, re-release after re-release and milking of franchises until they become totally uninteresting.

ok i have likely over posted in this thread so this will be my last post unless i'm quoted.

i fill the same way tword MS as when i started i wanted to counter the bashing of PS3 with a fire that couldn't be rivaled, but when i did come it was a disaster on all sides so i had a line to walk and tried not to pick sides but the heat was mostly on sony fans so i leanned on the fince alittle.

i don't know about the PR but i do beleive this new humbled filling is for the better. i'd like to see an even market next gen, and hope we all can come together and make sure our rights are protected to continue gaming in this industry without some political asshole trying to score brownie points for his/her political party.

gaming is global now and its up to us to protect wht we've built over the yr's so this fanboy mentality has to stop before we loss site of the bigger picture and that will always be protecting our rights and to enjoy the games other wise we are here for nothing.
