That's most certainly wrong. At most Mario Kart had as many sales through bundles as Gran Turismo. |
I think he means the bundle with the Wii Wheel... >_>
Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

That just comes off as your chosen interpretation, metascore ect don't have that much of an impact, not to mention this is the first big GT game of the gen and Reach was the second, as was a prequal .... yet it's what, 2 mill ahead? Halo is bigger than GT as of today. |
I kind of doubt that. I think Halo is turning into COD with one year life span's. As of today I think there both on the same level. One GT vs one Halo doesn't really make much of a difference. I think without bundles the sales will look like this. I think your forgeting about the long term GT legs. Most people keep going on and saying GT5 is showing to have no legs. Long term legs means the kind of legs GTA 4 has. It's still selling 10-15k a week on average just on one console. Believe me by 2013 or 2014 Halo Reach and GT5 sales will be the same. And I'm still expecting another sales update for GT5, God of War 3 and BO both PS3 and 360 versions. But it doesn't matter at the end of the day they are both great games of grat franchises

The scary thing is that you could very well be right. |
The only reason Mario Kart is in the top 40 is because of those bundles. Or else it would come in the top 10 of NPD almost every month or be one of the best selling games according to NPD. But it's not. It could be the Wii Wheel I don't know but it got a whole bunch of it's sales from bundles

I know it might sound stupid but certain individuals want GT5 to outsell Halo so they can brag it about or reassure themselves that the franchise is far from declining. |
couldn't have said it any better......As I recall I estimated around 7 million life time which is currently about right, compared to other "certain users who where claiming +10 million life time sold *chuckles*
I Dont care anyways
They're still bundling GT5 in Australia and Europe. The franchise is weak. Let it go.

You keep posting halo reach is more bundled than gt5, but aren't giving us any proof to that statement. Saying something wrong a million times doesn't magically make it right. As for some more GT5 bundles. There are already some posted and here are a few in the uk. =) And these UK GT5 bundles aren't limited edition ones with a higher price than normal. Seems like even with bundling GT5 can't outsell halo reach weekly. http://ps3.uk.net/ps3slim320gbgranturismo5 Heres one for mainland Europe http://www.gamestop.ie/36128_PlayStation_3_PS3_320GB_GT5_Bundle.aspx |
Are these bundles why GT5 all of a sudden started to sell better every week then it was about a month or two ago?

Halo main games will get back into 3 year cycles after 4, it was only possible to do Halo 4 2 years after Reach because of different dev studios. The only thing you CAN judge them on is the games latest sales, and given there has only been one GT game this gen that's all we have to judge how big the franchise is VS Halo these days. I'm sure GT will have great legs, but Halo has good legs as well. But without bundling I doubt they will be the same come 2013, you should check out what Halo Reach is selling now.
Your sales update for GT5 might turn out that we're overtracking it (as well as spot on or under) so don't assume that's a pro in GT's court!

You originally said 4-6 million actually, after the first sales figures were released too.
In respect to the OP, I think it depends on your definition of mass bundling. If the game is bundled with only some hardware, and at the full price of the standalone system and the game, then it won't really change much. If it's bundled at close to/the same price as a console by itself, and is widespead, it could add millions of sales in a short period of time (for example, if all hardware shipped for a quarter was bundled).
If GT5 is mass bundled, I'd expect it to outsell Reach by a sizeable margin, but it wouldn't really mean much, as standalone sales (or sales bundled, but at full price) are far more significant for measuring how widespread a game's popularity is.
dsage you keep saying sales would be the same if neither game was bundled. But we have shown you so much evidence that GT5 is indeed being bundled far more than halo reach.
And the only reason GT5 is appearing in EMEAA charts so high is because it is being bundled. If you haven't noticed the GT5 is pretty much never seen in more than one country in the PAL charts anymore, yet it somehow consistantly better selling then games that appear multiple times.

Yeah 1 or 2 bundles that are hardly available? Look at all the Reach bundles:

BTW I heard most GT5 bundles like the ones I showed you are only there for a limited time. So therefore you are prooved wrong and I stand correct
