Forums - Sales Discussion - Can GT5 outsell Halo Reach with a good amount of bundling by 2014?

Well I actaully think it is possible. Now there is like a new Halo every year which means like COD, Halo has a 1 year life span while GT keeps selling for a long time. And GT5 shipped 6.37 million in 6 weeks with no bundling seems really good. I like most other thought that GT5 would be bundled heavily right now but instead games like Black Ops and Reach have bundles and GT5 doesn't. I still think VGC is undertracking GT5 by at 350-700k but since I have no proof I can't say anything. Games like God of War 3 is bundled heavily for sure in the States because for the past few weeks God of War 3 has been outselling titles like Black Ops and Halo Reach. And if that bundling happend with GT5 what could happen to GT5 sales? Does anyone else agree with me? What do you guys think?

I think at this point it can reach 8 - 8.5 million with no bundling at all. But if it gets bundles like GT3, God of War 3 or Uncharted 2 it can sell beyond 10-11 million while Reach at this state looks to surpass a bit over 10 million

Just a question, because I quickly looked at the GT5 sales after this post and saw your comment that GT5 is outselling halo reach and black ops without the "mass bundling", yet even before the ps3 black ops bundle, black ops was outselling GT5 weekly, And halo reach is currently outselling it weekly and it has no bundles and has never had any bundles other than limited edition collectors bundles when it first came out which GT5 had as well. Just want to know where your info is coming from?

And if I understand your question correctly, than yes if GT5 gets massively bundled it can outsell halo reach.

No dude there are bundles for Halo Reach. Plenty. Go to futureshop, bestbuy, gamestop, EB games I bet you you'll see some. While GT5 has no bundles. And like I said Halo Reach is only 1 year lifespan

I'm not questioning the 1 year lifespan. I am questioning these bundles. Most of Halo Reach's sales come from the United States. Here in the united states, there are no halo reach bundles at bestbuy, gamestop, eb games(which is gamestop) or any other retailers. Online I cannot find any normal non limited edition bundles with halo reach anywhere, including future shop. If your local stores have none limited edition bundles it is not something the whole chains are having or those bundles would appear online.

If it gets bundled enough: yes
If it doesn't: no

Sure if it get bundled enough it can. But in order for that to happen it needs to be bundled a whole lot kinda like GT3 and Forza 2 was, and so far this generation Sony didn't bundle games that much except for the first Motorstorm game which got most of its sales due to bundles. Also I think your underestimating the final sales for Halo Reach by the time it will be out of print it will sell more copies then Halo 3 so at least 11.5 million copies.

I think not, mainly because I expect we'll be seeing heavy bundling of Reach/Halo CEA this year. The only chance I see it has long term is if Microsoft build a compilation of the Halo games, a Halo Collectors Edition prior to the launch of Halo 4.

I would say it's not impossible though and interesting to hear what people think the actual numbers could finish up at.

Why so many people here care so much about GT5? Every chart released there are always people talking about "legs" and so on.

Get away if it, guys.

Jesus.

What's so special about this game? Is just another racing game.

eh why would it get bundled till 2014? and i doubt it will.
