Hey Everybody. I am going to be Comparing the 3DS to the PS-Vita and give yall my thoughts on which one will be more successful.  :)

Here are my results when comparing the 3DS To the PSV as far as infomation presented is concerned

Price - Tie
Battery Life - Tie (Still dont really know the battery life for the Vita yet)
Camera - Vita
Power/CPU/GPU - Vita
Browser - Vita
Graphics - Vita
Design - Vita (My opinion)
Technology - Vita
Launch Games - Vita (This can change,But right now Vita seems to be having a good launch lineup)
Portability - 3DS
Durability - Tie
Online - Vita
3D - 3DS (Obvious)
Features/Content - TBA (Dont really know the Vita's content and features yet. Netflix, Pandora, Ect..)

 

Conclusion: As of right now, The PS-Vita is looking better than the 3DS in almost everyway shape, and form. I know Nintendo has always controled thehandheld market for gaming, But i really do beleive that the PS-Vita will dethrown Nintendo for handheld king once it releases. The PSP is still outselling 3DS in Japan and Europe right now which means that there is still life for Sony to take down Nintendo for the handheld market.

Though i am sure the 3DS will start to sell really well once Nintendo releases another Pokemon or Mario game. However i still think Vita has a brighter future ahead of it because it seems to be so much more promising.

-The 3DS should win in portability because it's smaller, (and Sony also said that the Vita isn't pocketable)

-Why are you assuming that the Vita's browser is better? Did Sony say that it would support Flash?

-Both have outdated cameras (640x480= 0.3 MP)

-Also, durability should be a tie (we aren't sure about the Vita)

When did Sony ever say that Vita would not have internal memory??? I got mutliple links that say otherwise...

PSP browser was better than DS browser and rumors are that PS-VITA and PS3 will support google chrome which is why i gave browser to PS-VITA

I'm behind the Vita, but that's just where i am in gaming really. I want a handheld - as the games on handhelds nowadays are just much more interesting and unique then consoles. And I sway to the Vita, as Playstation has been better to me then Nintendo in recent years, and I wants me some Wipeout and Uncharted.

As for this poll though... on a technical level Vita will always win, but that's just where we were with PSP vs DS. In reality though, DS has a far better library of games... which makes this pol., not based on games, just stupid.

I do like the years we have ahead of us in handhelds though. I've never owned one, and treasured in that way like my consoles... but with Vita I can do that, and experience it as a launch owner :).

nah hes right you'll have to buy memory

nah its up to 640 X 480 

 

but i must say that at an equal price point, for me theres no competition the vita blows the 3ds right out of the water

Google Chrome? Keep it at the Vita

The Vita is bigger then the 3DS because the Vita's screen, alone is 5 inches. According to specs from Nintendo, the 3DS's width is 5.3 inches.

Games, people thats the most important thing, And IMHO im more interested in Uncharted and Wipeout, to me they dump on anything coming out for 3DS with the possible exception of that new Mario, just my opinion, get at me Nintendo fans!

Yes it is. The 3DS easily fits into my pockets, it almost the same size as a DS Lite but just a tiny bit chunkier. Have you ever seen a PS Vita in real life? It's much bigger than the 3DS, it's even bigger than the PSP 1000.

Also 3DS wins in the durability department as well due to it's clam shell design.

3DS battery life is 3-5 hours on max settings not 3-4.

3DS file compatibility:

  • Photo -  JPEG, MPO
  • Audio - MP3, ACC (.m4a, .mp4 or .3gp)
  • Video - N/A
You're missing Infrared Transceiver from connectivity on the 3DS side.
Both systems have microphones.
Also nothings been officially confirmed on the PS Vita internal storage.
