Your predictions are starting to become a little out of hand. 7-8 million is definitely a possibility but 10 million?!?!

Like Carl said, Gears is not that big of a franchise to hit 10 million units Lifetime. I Predict around 7.5 million units shipped Lifetime.

Lol wow toastboy44562 I just went back and read your thread on the 20 million for Kinect prediction and had a serious LOL at many of the fail predictions in there. I LOVE going back and seeing threads like that where people have to eat crow.

But on this prediction I just don't see it. I think Gears hits 8 million max.

10 is a bit out there, unless they do some Sony level bundling, but the beta ensures 7-8 is likely.

I actually think gears can sell 8 million but 10 million... We will see.

gears as a franchise has no legs. Even gears of war 1 had pathetic legs compared to halo considering gears was a new ip and came out very early in the 360's lifecycle while halo already had a huge inital following and came out after quite a few xboxes have been sold.

While initial sales might just be comparable to halo reach. Its legs will be laughably worse. I'm comparing it to halo because halo is an established xbox exclusive that's mainline games are or will be consistant 10mil+ sellers for the 360.

8mil ltd is the max gears of war will reach. Can't really be compared to kinect because kinect is a brand new thing while gears of war is an established ip that has already had 2 very well recieved games.

That Kinect prediction was pure luck. Just look at BHR-3. He made one lucky prediction about Uncharted 2. Then his next ones weren't so accurate. I'm not saying it won't happen, but don't think you're some God-like predictor or anything like that if it does happen. You just get lucky sometimes and sometimes you don't.

Gears of War 3 can do 7 - 8million, but I doubt it'll reach 10m for the fact that it's not as accessible as a game like COD or Halo.
- Gears of War is a very hardcore shooter. You ever tried going online. You'll get slaughtered unless you're a pro.
- You also have to consider the fact that it's a third-person shooter. TPS are not as popular as FPS these days.
- It would have to sell like Halo 3 / Reach for that to happen and I don't see that happening.

Well, that's my prediction at least. I see it doing 7.8m.  Again I'm not saying it won't happen. It could very reach that milestone and I'd be very happen for it. But if it does, don't think you're special for guessing and getting lucky. Because quite frankly, that evidence in your OP is no hard data or anything like that. I see it being another BHR-3 situation.

I think it will reach max 7 million. The thing about gears is that it does not have as much appeal as halo. Halo is an M rated game but come on it hardly has blood, language, gore, etc. Uncharted 2 probably had more blood than halo (well maybe in cutscenes). Gears, however, is built on the foundation of blood, chainsawing a body in half, etc. I think parents recognize that(even if they still buy them GTA) and will not bother buying gears.
