I think this may not be a big deal.

You don't have to have a forced unified system to have a unified log-in and shared awards/boards.

Its very possible Nintendo is making the interface that will then accept the online solution/server connections any 3rd party wants to implement.

All the 3rd parties will need to do is accept the login credentials and any game related metadata for leader-boards and some award system. (probably coin or star related)

I think its way too early with far too little info to make a judgement at this time.

That's about what I got out of the text in the OP. We'll probably have a unified login system and depending on the game we'll be playing on either the developper's network or Nintendo's.

Signature goes here!

This probably means no achievements right ? ( not a big deal for casual but achievements are starting to be a big deal for more core gamers).

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

If each developer/publisher has their own network (i.e. EA, Ubisoft, Activision) they can do what they want, so I suppouse there would be achievements. Not that I care if they are useless...

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

I'll wait for the leaks on the new dev kits. Probably will come with some kind of info on on-line.

Yep need more leaks and info.

LMAO to your sig!

What an awful choice by Nintendo.

im taking a wait and see approach. what i hope does not happen is that i have to log in for diff. publishers. I.E i need a login for an EA game and 1 for Konami. Thats too much crap to deal with

That's what i was thinking, that they'll set up a unified, persistent friends list that you can view anytime to see what your friends are up to, but the actual nuts and bolts of online play will come from the 3rd parties themselves, so Nintendo doesn't have to pay for servers or have to establish a real service of any consequence

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
