y'know, considering that ALL games are toys, they should ALL be in the toy aisle.

Not true! I know tons of people who teleconference contract negotiations over Kinect and print off TPS reports from their PS3s. Those are serious work consoles, not mere game consoles. They belong in the serious work aisle of the store.

so i'm taking this to be a joke thread ... awesome!

...but i did want to add that at my local target DS games often times are in the toy aisle. for instance, a transformers DS game can currently be found stocked right next to the transformers action figures. this really only effect movie tie-in games from what i've noticed but there you go.

Wondered when this "article" would make it here to VGChartz.

And now that it is here, meh!

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Games are not toys. They are two ontologically separate sets of items, just like plants and animals. Games are play-based sources of entertainment, however, and in that sense they share many characteristics with toys.

I have nothing against this as long as I can still buy my Phineas & Ferb Wii game this fall.

My favorite game this year, togheter with Kirby Wii and Rayman Origins.

Above: still the best game of the year.

That is a joke, right? Games have always been and will always be considered toys. I have NO clue why people consider that descriptive term to be an insult. Toys are freaking awesome.

You're new to speaking to Helios, i see. He's not putting any stock in the whole idea that "games as toys" is derogatory, he's merely asserting that the two are different in their first principle, though serve much of the same functions

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
