Wii Has The Best Exclusives

Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii Has The Best Exclusives

...And if I want something else besides just classic Nintendo franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc.)? Yeah, I thought so. Nothing wrong with Nintendo franchises, it's just that diversity never hurts - unlike lack of it.

ITT: people who disagree come up with lists of every single hyped-up exclusive for other systems as their own argument. *rolleyes.*

It may not be a very objective argument, but your responses are ridiculous.

I thought RolStoppable was trolling until I checked his games list xD.

I've been thinking that for months.

Subjective.

And if I saw an article I didn't like somewhere, the first thing I'd do wouldn't be to dignify it with its own separate thread. Nobody here really gives what a writer on another website (particularly one called iNintendo) thinks about each console. Or at least nobody should.

Oh guys, let the Wii have this one ;)

After all, I have all those games (MK Wii???) and they are better than most PS360 games. Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted are on-par IMO, but still, it isn't Mario or Zelda.

That's why people have a Wii and... or just a Wii. I think everyone should play most, if not all, the mentioned games. I can't say that for the other consoles.

The Wii is essential due to its exclusives, and those niche games (okami, Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower, Bit.Trip, de Blob etc.). That's why they're the best exclusives IMO.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

A metascore over 70 is your criteria?!? That includes just about every game released that isn't completely broken.

even if i adjust the range to say above 80 or 90 the wii is still beat

Like it's been said before it's all a matter of taste. If we take Kantor's list :

PS3 exclusives rated above 90:

  • Uncharted 2 (I completely agree!)
  • LBP (I hate that game)
  • MGS4 (Not as good as other games in the series)
  • LBP2 (See above)
  • God of War III (I agree!)
  • MLB 10 (Sports game, blurg)
  • Killzone 2 (FPS, hate those)
  • MLB 09 (Sports game, no interest)

So as you can see, the PS3  90+ exclusive list only has 2 games I really love while the Wii list has 4.

hmm don't think anyone has to give this one to wii at all...it's just a personal preference, I think both ps360 give gamers more diversity and quality in their exclusive line ups than wii...easily.

your point about why those who have wii will def play this games is rather moot. it could also mean there's not much in the way of options when it comes to games on the wii..lack of 3rd party support is a big factor too

all consoles are essential IF you like the offerings...both ps360 offer higher quality list of niche games as well imho...heck add psn and xbl exclusives and wii will be way way behind

I wouldn't say it has the BEST exclusives but it definitely has more than people give it credit for.

The problem is is that nearly all good Wii games are made by Nintendo. The HD consoles have many great eclusives not designed by Microsoft or Sony.

Well, that's just complete nonsense.

Look at it this way:

The Wii has its exclusives and no major third party multiplatform games. Good third party exclusives are rare too.

Meanwhile, both the 360 and PS3 have their individual set of exclusives as well as all major third party multiplatform games and a few good third party exclusives each.

Lifetime sales show the Wii in front of the 360 and the PS3 with a significant lead. The 360 maintained a small lead over the PS3 for four and a half years now.

Now for the interesting part:

The above facts mean that both HD consoles have a bigger selection of good games than the Wii has, but despite this disadvantage Nintendo's console still found itself on top this generation. The only reasonable explanation is that the Wii's exclusives made such a significant difference that they completely offset the disadvantage of missing out on all major third party multiplatform games. Ergo, the Wii does indeed have the best exclusives, because if it didn't, then the Wii wouldn't have sold more than the 360 and PS3.

The Wii won the sales battle because it was innovative. It appealed to people who had never or rarely played games. Yes, it also appealed to Nintendo fans, but every Nintendo console ever made has done that, and the GameCube and N64 did not enjoy the Wii’s commercial success.

From the point of view of those new gamers, yes, the Wii has the best exclusive library. From the point of view of a hardcore Nintendo fan, it also has the best exclusive library. However, both of those categories are a minority on this site and other gaming websites.
