I havent really been paying that much attention but it seem like she is fucked. Was there really a huhe gap of time between when her child went missing and when she called the police?

I feel sorry for her cause I think she is going to do time. I also feel sorry for the 2-year old baby too. If only things was done different.

According to multiple articles and news sites. She's already done for. They will be seeking the death penalty on her if she is guilty.

about a month, to which Casey(the accused) went partying, drinking, and got a tatto reading "The Beautiful Life". during this time Casey constantly lied about where her daughter was until her parents got fed up with it and she confessed that the girl had gone missing.

to answer the OP's question, when the area where the body was found was searched by dogs it was under water due to rains (the whole area was a swamp). water is very good at hiding scents from dogs.

alot of the evedince is circumstantial, which makes a conviction hard. Yet i have a feeling she is guilty of something. the massive web of lies, including trying to pin sexual abuse on her father, makes me think she is hiding something. it could have been a death attributed to child abuse, since there was duct tape on the victims mouth and nose, possibly to shut her up so her mom could party. that i belive would be considered an accident, but still she could be charged with child abuse and possibly manslaughter. but it coiuld still be murder if she was that desperate to get back into her party/ romancing life. or there is always the defense, which is the girl drowned in a pool, Casey's father hid the body, and Casey only partied to hide emotional distress caused by sexual abuse by her father.

i personally think that, one way or another, she is responsible for the child's death. she has lied so much it goes beyond "being scared". i dont think the death penalty(one her possible punishments) will be sentenced, but i think she may be convicted.

She's got some big ol'titties....but in this case, even that's not enough.

Without a shred of evidence, I think she is REALLY fucked up in the head. What kind of person makes up a fake job that they go to everyday? Or a fake nanny? And she does it with such ease. I've never seen a creature quite like her--she can fabricate such intricate lies at the drop of a dime. But, what seals her fate, in my eyes was how she lied to the police. She didn't report her daughter being missing (and I'm sure she knew her child was dead) for a month. She lied about Caylee being kidnapped by the nanny.

I think that what we have here is a person that lives in some sort of fantasy world. She has a mental disorder. She probably drugged her kid so she could go out and party and accidentally killed her. Then, she tried to cover it up. She's guilty as hell. I wouldn't convict her of murder because I don't think the intent was there. But she is guilty, in my eyes of manslaughter, false information, tampering with evidence, obstruction, and probably a bunch of other things.

Listening to the tapes in court between her and the cops...I mean, the whole thing was ridiculous. "I was scared, and I was doing everything that I could think of to find her." She kept on saying that throughout the whole hour or two hours or whatever. Just listening to those tapes, you can tell something's a bit off.

Well whataya know. Not guilty. Who'd have thunk it?

Why?  Would you rather we just locked up everybody accused of a crime?

We have the absolute best justice system. (though far from perfect)  We do not have the best laws or prison system - this is an important distinction.

And nobody should ever, ever, say the justice system is bad because somebody they think is guilty goes free.  "better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer"  This is the beauty of our justice system.

Plus, you don't know what went on in that courtroom, or that jury room.  You don't have any more evidence than the media showed you.  You have no right to form an opinion on this case - you weren't there!

It seems to me that this is a simple case of "Beyond a reasonable doubt."  While it seems likely that she is guilty, it is not certain.  Therefore, she should not be sent to prison.
