It says 54% of the population will be minorities, not Hispanics.

I'm not sure why a white Hispanic is automatically considered non-white by virtue of their... Hispanicness. The people who run the census are fucking stupid.

I agree. There are plenty of white hispanics. But somehow they are less white because they speak Spanish?? That's absurd. Whites come from many nationalities that speak many different languages.

* Does this mean that affirmative action will work for whites?
* That schools can start White Student Unions?
* That there will be grants and scholarships that give preferential selection to white students?
* That the people who attempt to label ALL whites as racist decendants of slave owners even if our ancestors were not even IN the USA when slavery was legal with shut the hell up?

If so, then 2050 cannot get here fast enough*

* Though I doubt that the USA or even the world will exist as we know it anyway so it may be a moot point.

this...

also historically white colleges.

a month dedicated to white history

college tuition fess that go to promoting white culture.

but what im looking forward to most, is finally not being a racist. im a racist now, but once im a minorty. them black and latinos are... fact

Whites will remain the single largest group. It isn't like the other groups don't have conflicts. Asians stereotype blacks and latinos all the time, etc.

You are certainly correct, and I believe that osamanobama understands this - as do I.  My point is that our zeal to correct past injustices sometimes leads to new injustices.  Plus, as I said, my ancesters weren't even here until 50 to 100 years after slavery ended, yet I am expected to feel guilty about something that niether I or my ancestors had any part of?  Now, I am not saying that you are implying this, but there are those who do... that's why I mentioned it in my post above.

I live in a very multicultural place, and had a very multicultural upbringing.  I respect people of all kinds, but that doesn't mean that I will believe that "two wrongs CAN make a right" in the name of "social justice".  Does this make sense?

this

there were horrible things done in the past, by all races, to people of all races. none of it can be excused but why cant make up for it by doing things we previously mentioned. the only thing we can do now is treat everyone equally. what we do now perpetuates racial and class divides. our society always treats people of different background, differently proping some up, tearing othera down. treating everyone equally will lessen our apparrent differences

Fine by me, being hispanic myself, I really don' care who's majority or minority, just as long as we don't go into some civil war crap because of the immigration problems.

the UK will probably not be far behind

I don't understand the difference between "white" and hispanic.

I'm from South America and I'm very white, blonde and have blue eyes.

It's laughable telling uruguaians and argentinans are not white.

Believe me, here in the US when you tell people there are White Hispanics they give you a confused look.

I just assume that since there are many Mexicans in the US, people tend to stereotype (Most Mexicans are mestizo, anyhow) but when I say I know a redhead Mexican, then their response is "Then he's not Mexican!" -__-

What culture do white people have?

the one that runs the modern world and europe

Every new census the US redefines what racial group you can be a part of. Historically every census is different so the next census might further separate people of Hispanic origin. What does this tell us? that race is fluid and unrealistic especially when it is defined by the government. Another funny thing as being white with greenish blue eyes I can still claim Hispanic and even do just by being one quarter Mexican. I do this to gain any privilege I can for being a supposed minority. If I can claim Hispanic than it just shows flaws in the system and that accurately defining race is impossible.
