Which Controller is better? Why? Which do you prefer? Why? Are you mad? Should I answer this question with another question? O SNAP, too late I just did.

IMO.....There is no doubt in my mind that the Xbox 360 controller is the best controller for shooters (unless you want to count the mouse and key board). The PS3 controller is the best for fighters. But to me overall the PS3 controller is the better controller. The big reason why I think the PS3 controller is better mainly comes down to fighting games. Both controllers can play any game but the Xbox 360 is the only one that you can't really play games like Street Fighter without you getting fustrated because the moves you try to input aren't happening. There are some people that can use the Xbox 360 D Pad well in fighters but they are few and hard to come by. Even with the new D Pad it still isn't that great.

Some people might say the PS3 controller is too small and they can't play shooters well because they have big hands. But the Xbox 360 can be too big for kids and some people with smaller hands. So they kinda cancel each other out. Honestly they should just let you buy different sized controllers. Ding, Ding, Ding. Solution for both sides.

Now you may ask, why bring this war back out? It is important for gamers to discuss these things because people from the industry come to these sites to know what we are thinking, what we want what's write/wrong with their products. If we want to see changes we have to be vocal. I really would love to see different controller sizes for the people with smaller and bigger hands. So please be critical and post your honest thoughts and ideas on these controlers.

I didn't add the Wii controller because Nintendo is bringing out another controller for the Wii U to address more hardcore games,so we will have to see how that goes first.

Dual shock would've had my vote if the DPad and Analog were swopped around. Since they're not... Xbox

ps3 because i had an ps2 before and an ps1 before that and nothing changed and thats how i like it

As much as I hate to admit it, the new 360 controller has the egde. The analog sticks aren't so slick, the switched Dpad with Analog stick is way better for most games, the shoulder buttons have a better grip through their form, and the ABXY buttons are better recognizable through their colors.

I'm a total PlayStation fan since the very beginning, but since I've played with the 360 controller, the advantages can't be forgotten.

IMO, Sony should change the design of the DualShock a bit.
1.) switch the D-pad with the left analog stick.
2.) the analog stick should be concave and not convex, gives a MUCH better grip
3.) same as 2., but with the shoulder buttons
4.) make the [ ] /_ X O colorful, maybe use the colors of the signs.

That would make the Dualshock 4 absolutely perfect and would make it the best controller ever created. Seriously, with this design the ultimate controller would be born.

IMO PS3 controller is better. Its comfortable and good size. The controller style has been loved and sold hundreds of millions since PS1 so im sure many would agree.

Complaints i hear about DS3 is that 1) its too small and 2) need trigger buttons. But... 1) the size is good for majority of gamers hands and better for kids. My niece cant play on her dad's 360 cause the controller is too big for her so she comes and plays on my PS3. 2) Majority of FPS games on PS3 has the trigger button as the R1 so triggers are hardly needed. But it would be a nice feature to have as there still are a few FPS games on PS3 that uses R2 as the trigger.

It really boils down to which one you are used to I guess but for me I can't stand the PS3 controller. The lack of concave thumbsticks, thumbstick placement, worthless triggers, and just the general feeling of the controller are horrible for me.

Triggers: Xbox 360 (PS3's trigger feels awkward but get the job done)
DPad: PS3 (360's Dpad can fuck you up in tight situations)
Analog placement: Doesn't matter
Analog shape: PS3 (I prefer how the analog stick curves out)
Handles: Xbox 360 (360's curve better)
Face buttons: PS3 (360's buttons portrude out more )

Overall: Tie. They both do their jobs well enough.
