Well, I guess it's not as big as I thought, but it could replace my DVD player and stuff, so yeah. If a new model comes out, I'll probably just get the cheapest version. You can always add more space with an extra hard drive or whatever, right?

Ya that's an awesome thing about the ps3 is that it uses average computer hard drives, so you can just buy a big one at any store, like 1T. It's understandable to wait for now too, since this rumor is out that newer model will come with a price cut, but either way I'm happy with my ps3. =D

Make sure that it's a Laptop (2.5") hardrive that you're buying and not a a Desktop (3.5").

It is true that the PS3's on the market now aren't compatable with PS2 games? cuz that's what it says on the sony website. I hope the new models are compatable, because I really want to get into the PS2's library... so many great games that I have yet to play. Also want to play Star Wars Battlefront. I remember playing that on my friend's PS2, it was so fun! But right now the Wii is starting to bore me, and I thought I would try out the PS3. If there isn't any new model coming out, I'll probably just wait for a deal during Black Friday or Cyber Monday. :)

I think the price cut will be for $50. I think Sony will try selling as many consoles as possible at a good rate before hitting the $200 mark. Think about it: a $50 cut will help increase PS3 sales for a good run, and once PS3 sales start slowing down they will cut it by $50 again to extend its sales (probably) until the PS4 comes out.

Ohh I didn't know that, I thought it could be a desktop hard drive, well either way it's pretty awesome.

Uh, I don't know how much I would trust this, as I don't think any iteration of the PS3 has ever used 230W of power.  There have been several revisions, and I believe the power consumption is down to around 100-120W.

Found this: PS3 wiki.  Says the Slim typically uses 60W, and around 85W under load.
