Forums - Sony Discussion - Microsoft jab from Santa Monica employee!

i understand him...not everybody is in love with Kinect

The fact that Microsoft said all its future games will eventually be compatible with Kinect is a bit worrying. The company’s E3 press conference mainly focused on the motion sensor and gamers in general were left with a bitter taste that the corporation is focusing and putting too much emphasis on the peripheral. A Sony employee has taken notice of Microsoft’s plans to utilize Kinect for all of its future games.

Tim Moss, the director of Technology at Sony Santa Monica Studio – he was also involved in the God of War team – recently said on Twitter quite a hilarious jab at Microsoft by saying:

http://t.co/lJGpKM0 Thank god I don’t work for Microsoft !

The link takes you to an article stating the news that Microsoft will make Kinect compatible with all the console’s future titles.

Tim has a point, however. Microsoft is certainly putting a much too large emphasis on the remote-free motion technology. Case in point: during Microsoft’s E3 presser the company just put all their focus onto Kinect and even showcased titles that didn’t need it, such as Fable and others. Instead of displaying and announcing more core games for the console they decide to put all the buzz around a product which doesn’t need it that much.

It's not really a nice thing to say. What if Sony sacked him? Where will he go? I don't get why he have to say it. Just let the game speak for itself. He doesn't have to talk to prove his point.

After seeing what Kinect can "do" at that conference, I can't really say that he's wrong...

Meh...

'Thank god I don't work for my company's rival.'

... seems a reasonable Tweet. But then it's just that a Tweet from Twitter.

When did Twitter become a legitimate source for news? 7 words and a link can make a news story.

So many comments of issues on the news are 'This person said on Twitter'. Lazy reporters.

Hmm, pie.

Hilarious jab at Microsoft... really? "Thank god I don't work for Microsoft !" is hilarious? Some people have really low standards when it comes to comedy.

Signature goes here!

And his point?

Some people take video games FAR too seriously.

Those same people have really low standards for E3 conferences too, as it seems.

OT: Just came back from playing Child of Eden. He sounds like a silly little man with silly little ideas under such circumstances.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
