No. I'm sure they would welcome any third parties that want to continue support...or even add support.

Based on this year's support, I certainly doubt it. Yes, they are releasing Kirby, Mario Party 9 and Skyward Sword. But that really isn't saying much as Zelda games have long development cycles, so it was committed to long ago, and Kirby Wii was in development hell so long it was originally Kirby GC - for real. The only game that shows any commitment at all to Wii in 2011 is Mario Party 9 and that's usually developed by Hudson (not sure if that's the case here since Hudson was bought out).
GC was basically abandoned 18 months prior to Wii's launch without almost nothing released in that time, then Zelda:TP which of course was also a launch title for Wii.
Wii has it better than that at least. But any games that come out for Wii in 2012 will be stragglers in development (like Kirby) although that could include Wii Relax, GC ports, possibly 3DS ports (Pilot Wings and Luigi Mansion 2 would be great on Wii) or Japanese games finally making it overseas.
I doubt they will support the Wii to too large a degree after the Wii's launch, there will be a game or two that got delayed.
Also, if it is priced competitively, the Wii will be around for long after 12 months after the Wii U's launch
They will support the Wii, I'm certain of that. I'm just not expecting any new high profile titles, or maybe just one. I'm sure we will see a localisation of TLS for example.
I doubt it - at least, not any big ones. They want to save their resources for the new platform.
new games for another year sound possible!
let s see what they are going to do for the ds as will be pretty much the same process.
Switch!!!

History shows that Nintendo continued to put out games for one or two years for their widely successful systems (NES, GB/C, GBA and most likely DS; SNES to a lesser extent) once the respective successor had launched. Nintendo has only been quick to drop support for their not so successful systems (N64, GC), but in regards to that they aren't any different than any other company as Atari, Sega and Microsoft have also shown. The Wii will be the first instance of a successful system not receiving continued support, so this yet another thing the Wii can claim to be the first one to do. |
I'm having a hard time thinking of examples of Nintendo made game that get released when their next gen console/portable is released. A little help, here? I know they tend to release their consoles after everyone else but when they do, it seems like it's game over for the prior console.
