Were talking about next gen for a gaming system not the PC. I could careless what he has to say, so don't put words into my mouth. Day dreaming is pretty fun though, so I don't think I'll stop any time soon. :)

Personally i dont see the wii as "innovative" just because you wave your hand around, though its good to see game companies trying to do somthing different. Fun is all in the eye of the beholder, so saying x system is for x gamer is redundent. Though i may come off as a 360 fanboy (im more pro sony more than any other company but try to keep an open mind), I think games such as gears of war are truly innovative. Gears, though short, had amazing presentation, not just in looks but the way in which the story was crafted. Bioshock was truly innovative, the story was amazing and the detail in the graphics only added to the enjoyment of the game. The part where you understand why atlas asks "would you kindly" was a great twist. Im sorry but if mario galaxy is seen as "innovative" then i argue that bioshock is as well, if not more, hell at least bioshock has a story ; )

this brandon guy says he likes games where he needs to figure out how to get to some point without dying

when it's the only product on the market that gives you that experience at home?

of course there some things unique to the game like many games have some things unique to them

I have a PS3 and want a wii. I am a pretty hardcore gamer and like them both for different reasons.

I like the wii because I enjoy the mario and zelda range of games and a decent amount of JRPG's seem to be coming out in the near future that I can sink my teeth into. The control system is amazing and I have a bunch of mates I'd like to play some 'on the rail' shooters with in the future.

I like my PS3 due to the great DVD upscaler and PS2 upscaler inside it. The range of games right now is poor, but 2008 seems like it will make up for that. Even though it is not as good as the wii's motion controller, I do think the limited motion control that the PS3 controller gives you' aids some games greatly. Some people didn't like it, but I loved aftertouch on heavenly sword.

The only console that has not really done anything for me is the 360. This is probably just because I'm so used to playing FPS games on a PC that I can't really play them on a console, and I see the 360 as being a primarily FPS machine.

All in all, I hope they both do well. There are some games that work much better on the wii because of its control system (imo platformers, party games, action games and Jrpgs) While games that go for realism (imo fighting games, driving games, FPS) benefit from the fantastic graphics of the PS3. Of course these are just generalisations.

I owned a Wii, I disliked it, I traded it back in. Are you guys going to call me a fanboy for saying the 360/PS3 are better imho? And yes I just said the 360 is better then the Wii even though I dislike the 360 too and went through 5 RRODs before trading the damn pos in. BUT no matter how I look at it the PS3 + Wii + 360 + PS2 + DS + every other console that has existed in the last 25 years can not compete on the grand stage like PC.

I am a professional gamer. I play to win, I play for money, I play for bragging rights. The Wii will never make it close to the world stage. The 360 and PS3 have much better chances but overall they will maybe only make small time tournaments and leagues. You will never see a console in the world of true professional gaming so I have no reason to own a console that I dislike as it is useless to me.
