Can we nominate people? I always thought Khuutra would make a great mod. WereKitten as well, though he mostly lurks.

I feel these two have always demonstrated a keen intellect, a broad base of knowledge, and an excellent grasp of the English language. I feel they'd both be adept at identifying when a poster should be removed from the boards, and better yet, properly and succinctly explaining why said poster deserved to have been removed, something I've felt other mods have struggled with in the past.

Honestly, I think many of those who would make the best mods are also the type of people who would not actively apply for such a position.

Though I'm not sure if the two I mentioned would have the time to invest in such a position, given the increased workload they'll have with 2.0. That looks like a huge time investment for a volunteer position.

Not only do I agree with you, but you are a perfect mod that meets all of those requirements. I don't know why you ever gave up that job nor would I question it, but it would be nice to have you a s a moderator again.

And as a plus, people with power turn me on.

I coulda swore I explained to you what went down on Facebook lol.  I wasn't so perfect.

Hm.  Let's take the time to reminisce about some of the legendary mods we once had.  These are five of my favorites from over the years:

• bodhesatva - He was a brilliant guy, and his posts were always a joy to read.  He seems to have moved on to greener pastures over on gaf, however, where he also happens to be a moderator.

• sqrl - Another brilliant individual who was really involved in off topic discussions about climate change, economics, and other interesting areas.  Alongside bod, he was easily one of the smartest guys on the forums, and knew so much about everything.  I would learn so much from reading other one of these individual's posts.  Eventually he just kinda faded away, though.

• benk - A really cool guy who was heavily involved on the PC side of things, but the lack of interest in PC gaming on these boards is what ultimately drove him away, or so I hear.

• stof - Another cool guy.  Just like benk, he was calm, level headed, intelligent, the works.  Though he kinda started going crazy in political threads near the end there.  But that was after he was no longer a mod.

• montanahatchet - A bit of a loose cannon, but an all around awesome guy.  Plus, who didn't love his avatars!  And oh, the stories he'd tell!

If you're gonna emulate anybody, I'd recommend one of these fine fellows.

Naz was my second as he brings in the fear like no other.
