Forums - Gaming Discussion - Whats with the Rap music in FFXIII-2?

Personally I'm more worried about having vocals in background music... And in that regard, I guess rap might be more noticable that other music. Anyway, I didn't like it but as long other music is fine, it won't be a big problem. Right now I'm more worried about battle music which didn't sound at all fitting for the game despite not actually being bad.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Drama Queen? Shallow? Dont know what to make of this. If we wanna Hate on XIII-2 lets at least find a real reason

btw Noel looks like Squall... and Serah looks like she just got picked up off the corner

finally - this sounds very similar to Vegnagum. from X-2

I was kinda thinking the same thing. Although the rap song used is kind meh its not exactly bad. If FFXIII did one thing right it was the music. I will say that Persona can put French/Japanese rap in their games and make it work very well.  I do feel the strong X-2 vibe from this though. They show the same 2 characters and its not looking like u get to branch from that for quite some time if at all. The monster's fighting along side you is LAME, I hate DQ for this reason. The moogle's "kupo" is also not exactly how I was thinking it would sound. what happened to the sound effect they used to do? The combat system looks largely the same to FFXIII's plus quick time events. This game is looking severely halfed baked to me honestly :/

Oh, and Noel's full name is Noel CHRIST!!!!??!!!?!!!!???!?!?!

I don't really like it. I personally despise Japanese rap music (even though the music in the video is English), or Japanese Pop for that matter. Including TWEWY and Persona music.
I prefer video game music without vocals (except, vocal choir and similar types).

Would this ruin the experience for me? Obviously not. But it won't enhance it either. In other words, we shouldn't make a big deal out of this. It's just a BGM for a game.

Off-topic: Am I the only saddened by the fact that they're reusing music from the first game?

While we're at it, I'm quite impressed by the voice acting. Well, except for the moogle. As much as I love moogles and their "Kupo,"the one who's voicing it will be potentially annoying.

Anyway, I don't know what I'm babbling about. It's almost 12am here I really need to sleep. Ignore this post.

Most Persona games have rap.

It didn't sound too bad, what did however was the quick time events.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

That actually look a lot of fun, and i'm not a big fan of Rap, but who cares the gameplay looks very improved from the first one

Persona 3 and 4 music has rap , and most of them are catchy . some of them are silly (i never felt like, Dun dun dun dun daaann! ) , but its not bad to try new stuff.

"Burn My Dread" is the most epic rap song to be put in a video game tho lol
