Forums - Microsoft Discussion - MS: In the future you probably see all first party games using kinect

Really, is this any different than Sony supporting Move on every first party game they can or 3d support. It only makes sense that MS support a device that is increasing their sales. With more support hopefully you will see better implementation of Kinect

agreed. Kinect is still a new technology, and Im sure we have not see it for all its uses yet. There will be plenty of software with kinect support that fails, but there eventually will be certain titles and uses that will be huge successes.

As long as its optional I don't really care.

But if its forced into evey game and you have to use it I will be beyond pissed with MS. And I enjoy my Kinect alot but the fact is most games just work better with a controller.

They need to focus on not quantity but quality of Kinect software, and making new experiences like Dance Central is.

If it's not mandatory then this is not a big problem.

What I don't get is the need of Kinect to use the voice commands. Can't a headset do that?

If they would simply allow the headsets everyone already has to be used for voice commands, nobody would buy a 150$ microphone.

Isn't it quite ironic that voice control has become Kinect's most appreciated feature? The price for the required hardware is almost zero, pretty much every 360 owner already has it, voice control has been possible for years, yet it was hardly ever implemented.

2 things:

1 - Who wants to wear a headset the entire time they're playing a game or have to take it on and off?

2 - The voice recognition software is running on the Kinect hardware and doesn't need to be programmed into every game to make it work

Good. More games for me to use with Kinect.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I didn't know that the software was running on Kinect, that explains it.

As for who wants to wear a headset... who want to shout to his TV? Or do you thing that Kinect will be able to understand what you say when speaking normally? Even in the videos (not on stage with the noise) people were talking loudly.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Um, it can. Well, mine can.

Kinect can understand you at a normal speaking volume even with loud music playing.

Watch the first video under "Noise Tests".

Once it's not mandatory to play the game, or get all the achievements. I think the Kinect is a great tool to augment gameplay. If the future is more like Mass Effect 3's implementation than count me IN, if it's more like Fable The Journey count me OUT.
