Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU to only support 1 tablet controller?? Miyamoto speaks...

So there's been speculation as to how many tablet controllers can the WiiU system support. In a recent interview with News Miyamoto says this...

"Our basic premise is that you can use one with a system,"

I read the article on ign.com

http://wii.ign.com/articles/117/1174821p1.html

If this is true, I think this would absolutely be a huge downer for the system. I was never a huge fan of the Wiimotes and do not really want to use them again for WiiU when I'm playing with my bro or with friends. And I'm sure there will be arguing over who can use the tablet controller. How do you guys  feel about this?

"If new things are so great, where have they been the whole time?"

Around the Network

That would really hold back this system. I think you need to be able to connect at least two of these tablets.

hmmm not sure what to think. I am glad their aim isn't to make TONNNSSSS of money through just selling more n more of these controllers.

But just having one may limit things a lot.

Like 2 player games.

IT CAN BE THE DECIDING FACTOR OF MANY PURCHASES . . .

NINTENDO

You are all doomed to MP online as everybody complained Ninty didn't have a network now they are going all for it.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Wouldn't it require a lot of power for the system to support displaying not only to the TV, but also to several controllers? Nintendo might hesitate, because if a game supports say 4 controllers, then graphics would have to be toned down. That would only make sense if it's used often.

I really hate turning the Wii Mote to the side to play 2 player games. It's very un-ergonomic, IMO. I'm disappointed, tbh.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

So you can only use (1) per console and you can not buy them seperately?

So what happens if the tablet breaks?

I was hesitant on whether to grab this or a Vita and Nintendo is making this choice very easy on me.

I don't want to play primarily with Wiimotes again, not to mention (1) tablet per system pretty much throws so much potential out the window.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I think that you should be able to use at least two Wii U controllers with the console.
Maybe the Wii U can't support more than one since it has to stream it to the controller?

If that is the case then they should keep the Wii remote+ as the main controller and then use the new controller in one player games and specialised multiplayer games.
