So after watching some footage from Final Fantasy XIII-2, it got me thinking, which RPG's am I most looking forward to this year?

Well actually, I'm only going to name my top three, and I'll give reasons too, lol...

- White Knight Chronicles II

I'm one of the few people who played this and enjoyed it for what it was, it was a simple game, but offered tons of fun for me, the online aspect was great, the Georama system was fun to mess around with and recruit people to it, and the actual singleplayer itself, it took me a whole 45 hours before I finished the game, granted, some of that time was spent online and in my Georama, but that's still a pretty decent length for me, especially if we use the price:value ratio, lol... (If a Bluray film is 15 GBP and lasts roughly 2 hours, a game that is 45 GBP should last 6 hours, right? Well there we go!)

- Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten

I lov the Disgaea series, they're the best strategy RPG's out there, haters can go hate somewhere else, because Disgaea 4 will be absolutely amazing, it offers the same stuff as Disgaea 3, except more! The art style has switched from sprites to vectors but they still look REALLY nice (I love sprites myself, but meh) and it seems to offer lots more to do, like pimp your ship, build your own levels, online! And it's great that the online will work like Demon's Souls, you can invade other people while they're playing! It's going to be amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on it and put in even more time than I did with Disgaea 3, which I still haven't Platinumed yet due to my PS3 dying and I lost all my savedata on it! (Let's just say I played over the 200 hour mark...)

Finally....

- Dark Souls

Yes, yes, yes, yes, oh my god yes. That's how I'll be reacting when I play the game for the first time, I love Demon's Souls, I still play it to this day (I'm SO close to Platinum and I won't stop until I get it!, 70 hours and ticking, not bad really... considering the game cost me 15 GBP brand new...) and Ican't wait to get my hands on more, I love how the game is going to be more open, how we won't have a hub of sorts (The Nexus was cool, but meh... level hubs are... meh) and there seems to be a wider variety in levels, and more levels are in daylight, I know Demon's Souls was all about being in a dark place all alone, but it can still work in daylight too, Boletaria was my favourite set of levels and they were in daylight lol, and from what I've seen of a video, there's a place LIKE that, except it's so vibrant and colourful and looked absolutely amazing! This game looks like Demon's Souls 2, and I mean that in a Lost Planet 2 kind of way... if you don't know what I mean by that, the developers of Lost Planet 2 said the 2 isn't for "sequel" it's for "squared" since it was so much better (And I agree actually), it's going to be so good, and I'm actually happy this title is multiplatform, everyone should have a chance to play it... except people on the Wii, but let's not judge them, haha...

Notable mention to Final Fantasy XIII-2 however, but I hear it's been moved into 2012 for the west, so obviously I can't put it on the list, although it's definitely my most anticipated RPG of 2012 for now, haha, unless we get a suprise and White Knight Chronicles 3 releases next year in the west, although I doubt it since it's not out in Japan yet... oh well, we'll see, right?

What are your three most anticipated RPG's of 2011? Please try to go into a little detail as to WHY they are, I'd love to know people who are as hyped as I am for these three games... although technically White Knight Chronicles II has already released, well, not yet, not until tomorrow, but meh... I won't be buying it just yet, need to save up for other things (Not games) first, lol...

Around the Network

Since FFXIII-2 is now delayed till 2012 my list has changed.

1. XENOBLADE CHRONICLES (Expecting a holidays 2011 release)

Everything about the game I have heard points to it being the most progressive JRPG in a long time (from vids I've seen and Japanese reviews). The OST is brilliant (heard it) and the guy who's made some of the best stories in videogames (xenogears, xenosaga) did the story!

Can't wait!

2. ELDER SCROLLS V : SKYRIM (Holidays 2011)

I loved Oblivion sooo much, my fav WRPG evarr! This is that and more....nuff said.

3. FINAL FANTASY - TYPE-0 (Summer 2011 Japan...expecting a Holiday 2011 EU release)

The game looks phenomenal and is set on 2 UMD's due to the scale of the story. Airship battles on the world map, a interesting action RPG battle system, school setting...love what I'm hearing. Expecting a masterpiece here.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

1. Xenoblade Chronicles

2. Paper Mario 3D (Hopefully)

3. SMT: DS Overclock (Someone please pick it up for Europe, damn region locking)

3. Paper Mario: Finally, a new Paper Mario that goes back to it's roots.
2. Xenoblade, looks just stunning, shame it looks like it won't come
1. The Last Stort: Xenoblade x2
