What console did you start off with this gen and where did you go from there? Are you happy with your consoles? What is your console history this gen? Tell us your story =D

I started this gen with a Wii. I thought the Wii was cool for about 30 mins until I started getting frustrated how inaccurate the motion controls were. My plan was to buy a PS3 for my hardcore gaming once it got a price drop after the Wii. When the price did drop they removed backward compatibility which is a big deal for me and the PS3 had no exclusive games I wanted (at the time), so I bought a Xbox 360. I had a feeling my Xbox was going to Red Ring since it was giving me a few problems, so I bought a PS3 just after last years E3. PlayStation Plus and Kevin Buttler's great speech at E3 really pushed me to buy a PS3. A few months later my Xbox died.

I've spent around 100 or less hours on my Wii, around 300 hours on my Xbox 360, and I'm not sure how many hours I've spent on my PS3.... But up until this point I would say my views on each console are:

Wii was garbage. (Sadly)

Xbox 360 was a great console but had bad hardware and Xbox Live is a waste of money.

PS3 had bad security but online was free for the same quality in online game play as Xbox Live (as far as I could tell).

I still own all three consoles. But my sig gives away which one I have enjoyed/liked the most this gen.

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

Started with the DS... at some point, I honestly can't remember when I got it.

Next was the wii at launch after camping at circuit city

Then Feb 2007 I got 599 dollar ps3 still sitting right next to me

Feb 2008 saw my purchase of a psp

And that summer I bought a 360 from a friend

Time for hype

Wow techinically started with PSP i guess....
then got a Wii in Feb 2007.....actually went with a friend early in the morning because they wanted one, and they handed me a ticket too, so I felt I had to get one....
Then my gf got me a DS lite for V-day on Feb 2008
Held out for a PS3 til Sep. 2009, with the price drop and remodel
Sold my PSP last year on Craigslist
Got the best deal on a 360...my friend bought the new model, and gamestop would only give him 35 for his old pro...so i gave him 50 for it and he also gave me the wireless adapter....Sep. 2010
And finally this year got the 3DS on launch day!

EDIT: Oops forgot to answer how i like them....

PS3: I'm glad I waited for the price to come down.  It's by far the best system of this gen.  People always give reasons like it's the blu-ray, stronger processor, built-in wi-fi (not anymore since 360 does now), and free online.  But for me the main decision was the exclusives.  What games could I get on each system that I couldn't get on the other.  And honestly I only came up with 3 I wanted on 360, and too many to count on PS3.

Wii: Nintendo will always have my money unless they sell the rights to Zelda and Mario (which they've stated will never happen).

360: I only have exclusives for this, I just don't feel safe having a bunch of games for a system that might die on me at any time.  I don't hate it, I see why a lot of people bought it: low price, and they like to play online shooters.  I just like more variety personally.

Systems I Own: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, 3DS, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, Genesis/Sega CD, Atari 2600, Atari Jaguar, Game Boy, GB Advance, Game Gear, Intellivision, PC, Xbox, Sega Saturn, Virtual Boy

I bought a ds, and hated it. I kept playing my gcn, and then the wii came out. I got the wii and loved it the first year an a half. I also began to appreciate the ds. Post e3 2008, I lost faith in Nintendo. I saved up my money and was going to buy a ps3, but backed out at the last second and bought Guitar Hero WT (worst decision of my life lol). I then saw the dsi, punch out and excitebots and regained faith momentarily, but decided against purchasing two of the 3. I began to want a ps3 again, and finally I bought a ps3 in August 2009 because I wanted a phat instead of a slim because it looked cooler. Now I am planning on getting a psv or 3ds.

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth." -My good friend Mark Aurelius

It first started on a freezing cold November morning, waiting in line, hoping to snag a Nintendo Wii. Only 86 were available and I luckily got ticket #86. Brought it home along with Zelda, played some bowling, played some Zelda. Bought a couple of games along the way but eventually got bored with it. I later modded it. Poor thing has been collecting dust for years other than some Netflix use. I should sell it to be honest. The thing has a 500GB HDD hooked up to it with 250GB of movie/music storage space and the other 250GB of space is loaded with anywhere between 50-70 Wii titles. I can count on 1 hand how many of them I actually played, lol.

Next up was the PS3. I bought it for $600 on December 26th, 2006. I still have that same 60GB but it is struggling. Won't display above 480i for some reason, HDMI port is dead and sometimes the BD drive gives out.
Luckily I picked up a 160GB Slim. It is easily my favorite this generation.

In February of 2008 I picked up a 360 along with Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. The console was good, I loved the controller and eventually picked up what happens to be my favorite JRPG this generation, Tales of Vesperia.
After realizing it too was beginning to collect dust I ended up selling it off to a co-worker sometime in 2010.

As for Handhelds I picked up a DS on Black Friday 2004. Since then I have purchased a White, Black and Gold Zelda DSLites. I loved the little guy.

Picked up a PSP at launch, however only did so because my Ex paid for it.
I still have it and it is modded.

Out of this entire generation I have owned every single device and for the first time ever I also ended up selling one of my consoles.

360 is the only one I am lacking now.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Your story doesn't sound authentic. Anyways, here's mine:

What's not authentic about it?

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

Got my nintendo ds during the holidays it launched and I loved it.

forgot when I bought my 360 but it was when the pro model came with an 8gig hard drive and cost $400. Played a lot of halo 2. Than I graduated to halo 3 when it came out.

It died on me about a year later and thanks to the super awesome bestbuy warranty I had, they just gave me a $400 giftcard to buy a new xbox and so I got a 20gig xbox pro for $350 and another warranty. Became obsessed with left 4 dead and also really enjoyed bioshock, fable 2, fallout 3, and oblivion.

The two year awesome bestbuy warranty was about to be up and my xbox was sadly still alive so I figured why not try and return it. After telling the uninterested bestbuy guy that the console got loud when it played games, he spoke to his manager and they took it and gave me a $400 giftcard which was odd considering the 20gig xbox cost $350, but I got a 250gig special edition xbox 360. Sadly bestbuy had wised up and their warranty no longer entailed getting a giftcard when the xbox broke. Instead they would ship it for repairs so I didn't get another warranty. Became obsessed with PC gaming so my xbox didn't recieve a lot of love.

I got my ps3 begging of 2010 and its pretty good. While the majority of its billions of exclusives are in my opinion very heavily overhyped, there were indeed some gems such as valkyria chronicles and infamous.

Recently sold my 360 because I am completely uninterested in their 2011 exclusive lineup and multiplatforms are covered by my PC. Will probably get a new one once halo 4 comes out if I have the cash.

The main thing is the fact that you said KB Speech encouraged you to buy a ps3. It was funny but not buy-a-new-console good. How did PSN+ encourage you at E3 when most of the deals were pretty useless.

And then you say how PSN+ (at launch) was great enough to convince you to buy a ps3, yet LIVE is a waste of money. I can't see how PSN+ at launch had more value than LIVE.

Your overall tone of the post just seems suspiscious to me. Like when the slim came out, the phat got a price drop too in order to clear out stock. Why didn't you buy a phat then?

Why was your plan to buy a PS3 when it didn't have any exclusives you wanted.

You say the Wii was garbage because of it's inaccurate controls. Most of the Wii's best games don't require accurate controls (SSBB, MKWii, NSMBWii, SMG, etc)

And then you say that the PS3's online security is not as good as LIVE, but then you say it's online is of the same quality. I Don't understand this?
