Forums - Sony Discussion - How much would you be willing to pay for 3G?

A few things to concider first:  

 

-By the time the PSV comes out, 3G will sound a little old compared to 4G.

-Most 3G unlimited plans cost $30 a month at the moment.

-250Mb limit costs $15 a month

-The kindle costs nothing though it is nothing near 3G.

 

 

My Hopes:

 

I am hoping that the 3G model will come with a standard plan plus extras.  

 

Standard Plan (Comes FREE with all 3G models):  

- All messages are free to send back and forth on PSN

-PS Near (that service that can tell who is playing games near you with GPS)

-10 Mb download limit (For themes and wallpapers)

-Trophy syncing

-Text Chat

 

Premium ($15 a month)

-Online gaming

-Internet browsing

-100Mb download limit (For minis)

-Voice Chat

 

Unlimited ($30 a month)

-GPS

-Download as much as you want

-Video Chat

 

 

 

 

So what do you guys think?  I would actually be willing to pay $5 a month for the standard plan



Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

I can't remember where but I heard somewhere that you won't be able to play games online over 3g. :(
It's only going to be used for text and voice chat so you can only play online games over wifi.

sounds good. but i would much rather just be able to put my sim card in the vita and use my own carrier. i already have unlimited data and there will be a sim card slot in the 3g vita model.



Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

i heard this too, on gamestop right after the sony press confrence.

if 3g isn't free there is no way i would pick that version up

what can psp do with 3g that i can't do on my phone with 4g?

or if at home on my computer. cause i know i sure as hell ain't going to be playign anyi games over 3g. too slow

 

edit: btw this is at&t right?  so your prices are a bit low, and also does at&t even have an unlimited data plan?  i thought all their plans had some limit

I'm unsure why anybody with a cell phone would want it, really. Wi-Fi version for me.

Zero. 3G is useless in a gaming device, I'm getting the Wifi only version.

yea as i just said, all phones are superior to this in that regard

and who seriously thought you could play games over 3g?  do they not know how slow 3g, and then to be able to compute games like psv over that with multiple people.   I just don't see why the hell sony bothered with 3g at all
