Someone sell me on Vita. I need seven exclusives that I can't play anywhere else, and are legitimately good. I'll play almost anything except for sports games. Go!

So, did you buy one? It has a great library imo. Can't go wrong. EDF 2017 Portable and EDF 2 are 2 more I'd mention. 2017 is also on XB360, but the Vita version has the Wing Diver class, which is a pretty huge addtion. If you haven't yet, do it!

Not had much time for gaming or writing lately, but I did have chance to play the original Medievil (PS1 on Vita):

It's aged pretty poorly sadly

I never "got"that game back in the day. The controls felt...sloppy? Loose? It's been over 2 decades, but that's what I remember from my brief time with it. Also, to be honest, I ended up cheaping out with Paper's Please. It's still on my radar, but hoping for a sale.

I actually got called out from someone who runs a MediEvil fansite on Twitter who was like "you clearly didn't play games in the PS1 era, the controls are fine, not everything can age perfectly!". I didn't respond to him but it was just a bit ironic since I not only gamed during the PS1 era (my first console), but I played MediEvil on it too - and yeah, I thought it was quite poorly controlled back then too.

It's funny revisiting all these games on Vita - some work, some don't. Objectively, Syphon Filter is quite bad by modern standards, but somehow it just works when I'm replaying it. Whereas MediEvil doesn't, it just feels sloppy like you say.

Yeah, tbh Medievil wasnt that great control wise back then either, what helped it a lot was its charm and world. I do hope the remake does end up being very good tho as its still a fun game and I'd like for more people to know about it and enjoy it.

Finished another article, looking at a history of the hunting genre on Vita:

https://kresnik258gaming.wordpress.com/2018/04/11/a-history-of-vita-games-filling-the-monster-hunter-shaped-hole/

Which hunting game did you like the best?

In other news, Fate/Extella Link is coming to Vita in the west. Digital-only though

Digital only for Vita makes sense, I'm just glad we're getting it at all. Marvelous has been pretty good for our little guy, glad they still seem to care about it.

Also PS very nice article about hunting games :) really enjoy the genre and I hope Sony sees the success of MH World and makes an effort to do something new with Soul sacrifice and Freedom Wars.

I didn't. Damned near every good Vita game has been ported to another system already. It had worthwhile games for it's time, but like the Wii U it's an unneeded purchase.

Vita games I own on other systems....

Gravity Rush 2, Tearaway, DQ Builders, Ys VIII, Dragon's Crown, Legend of Heroes II, Disgaea 4, Muramasa, Legend of Heroes I, Disgaea 3, Persona 4.

I'd love to see Soul Sacrifice come back, it really deserves it.

Imo, Marvelous/XSEED haven't been great to Vita - XSEED started skipping Vita games as early as 2015 (Luminous Arc/Valkyrie Drive/Uppers), while other publishers were still on board.

So this is a nice surprise that I genuinely wasn't expecting.

In hindsight yea, I forgot a lot of the games they didn't bring over were brough by either NISA or PQube.

A nice final kick in the balls from NISA.

This should cheer you up(maybe)

I know it did for me. Loved the anime, can't wait to play this.
