I guess the reactivity here isn't as vivid as on the Vita subreddit, so I just like to point out here that you covered pretty much everything there is to see about localizations. As for my input, don't you think that the region free "advantage" the vita may also be the reason we're not getting some titles, especially the very niche "otome" ones ? Hardcore fans of that genre wouldn't hesitate to import a game upon its release, and not many would agree to double dip on the same title.

Thanks for the kind words. That's probably a very legitimate point about the otome stuff, but with that said there seems to be a small niche of western gamers who are interested - and honestly, I do believe that the people who play these in Japanese will double-dip for the good ones (like Code;Realize). You just have to look at the response to Spike Chunsoft's poll which put Kenka Bancho Otome as #1 to see that there's demand for this stuff.
Region free is great though. It means I can play things like Tales of Hearts R & Ukiyo and muddle through with google translate.
