I can't immerse myself and actually had to struggle to make past the opening credits. In an entire hour there was zero, and I mean zero gameplay, unless I was doing something wrong. Need to get back to it; I always find something better to do and now my vita is getting no love (I know that if I quit the game and play something else, I'll never get back to it). I don't get why they made the first hour so boring. Also, the girl with the blue eyes is perhaps one of my least favourite characters ever. Cliche to the core. It's like the creator is telling me "look at her, she's so naive, so cuuuuuute". Yeah, no. The voice acting is good, though. |
To like VN you have to like to read a LOT. This genre is popular in Japan because of their reading habits, and yeah all VN feel like cheap indie games, but that's it, are like old graphic adventures with choice options throught text. And stories tend to build up at a slow pace. But I'm sure Stein's;Gate is worth your time, or anyone's time. The story is just that awesome.

See I get all that, I just don't understand why they didn't simply have me make some choices from the begining. After an hour, I didn't press anything. If felt like reading a book, which is fine, but I want some kind of control. His phone rang and I couldn't decided whether to asnwer it or not. You know?
Anyway, I trust both of you guys, so I'll keep playing and see if I fall in love with it as much as you guys did. I didn't love persona 4g either, but grew to like the characters and it became one of my favourite games.

It's a game you'll either fully immerse to it, and might consider it your best Vita game of all times, or you'll get disappointed because you're going to have some really high expectations about it.
I personnally played the original game without knowing much about it, liked it but was unable to finish it, only to get the vita version afterwards, which turned out to be way better.
On the other hand, the only VN i played was the Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc, the beginning was such a hassle because you couldn't remember the names, it felt like dialogues would never end. But after the second chapter, i couldn't stop myself until the story unravelled. So VNs require patience for full immersion. But I still don't feel like going through a 3h Prologue of a VN and then turn out to hate it. That is why i haven't tried any other one after that.

That looks really good. Looks like there's some decent details to the environment unlike your typical Vita build of a game also on PS4. Looks like these PS4-PSV games (looking at YSVIII as well) are actually getting decent effort put into the vita builds.
