I'm the bringer of bad news today, seems PSTV shipments are done worldwide.

I just ordered a second as a replacement for if mine ever breaks. I wasn't a massive fan of the console, but it has been nice to play some of my games on the big screen with a DS4.

So what are you guys playing ? I just went ahead and bought a couple of psp games (utawarerumono, Shinning hearts, and Nayuta no Kiseki) . Currently playing Nayuta no kiseki, DQ builders and Attack on titans. I don't even know why i didn't buy Nayuta on psp, I disgraced myself as a Falcom fan. The game seems great so far, story takes off early, combat seems similar to Ys with more platforming(similar to older Ys games ?), nice music and it looks pretty for a psp game.

Finishing up Mahouka and Hyperdevotion Noire; will likely pick up Lost Dimension again to do a second playthrough.   Dip in & out of EDF 2017 and finishing up Duke Nukem 3D too.

Damn, wasn't expecting that :( Personally I was never interested in it as I like playing my vita games at college when I have the time, but that sucks for people who were still on the fence about getting it. I guess it really isn't that much of a surprise though...

Edit: Still playing Trails of Cold Steel, still in chapter 1...it's so long, but so good. Might start Disgaea 3 soon though.

To be honest, it's also future-proofing for.  I like Vita as an ecosystem - it's produced a lot of games I like and would want to play again.  PSTV is a console so will probably last a lot longer than a handheld (screens break; batteries run flat; analogue sticks break etc.).  I know not everything is compatible, but I'd like to know that I can play the games which are compatible 10 years down the line.

Ah I see, that's good idea. Might just import a japanese vita for that same reason as well. So when/if my vita breaks I'll have another one to fall back on. Also having the standard black one is fine, but the japanese ones look so sweet in different colors! The Dragon Quest one in particular is quite nice.

Some info about the reason for discontinuing the Vita TV.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2016/02/29/sony-explains-discontinuation-of-ps-vita-tv-in-japan-mentions-strong-ps4-and-ps-vita-sales/

“The role of the PlayStation Vita TV was to let people enjoy easily handheld games on their TV, and to create an opportunity to reconnect with people who distanced themselves from gaming. In the current situation, with strong sales of PS4, and also a strong PS Vita in Japan, it has played its given role.”

So there's your reason, take it as you will.

Playstation TV was a good idea for all these people who wanted to play PS Vita games on TV.
Everyone who wanted the Playstation TV, has bought it yet. There is no big reason to continue with shipments.

Thank you Playstation TV!!!

Assassin's Creed Chronicles running on Vita.

Graphically downgraded, but seems to keep FPS well enough. Will likely be a buy because of that from me!
