Bandai Namco have been impressing me a lot lately. They've been taking chances on things that they wouldn't previously have done, and by the looks of things, it's been paying off for them: http://www.siliconera.com/2014/12/11/bandai-namco-say-theyre-paying-attention-fans/ "“Tales of Xillia was the second-highest Tales game in sales, bigger than Symphonia 10 years ago,” he shared. O’Leary also confirmed that Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment sales were “above forecast expectations.”" Given the above, and the fact that I do want to see Tales of Innocence R one day in the west, I bought Hearts R day 1. I haven't played it yet. I probably won't get around to playing it for a while because I'm still playing Xillia 2 and a load of other stuff at the moment. I don't really blame your decision, but if you ever did have any interest in playing Innocence R, I think buying Hearts R while it's still fairly new would increase the chances of us getting Innocence R. As it stands, if Hearts R isn't a worthwhile venture for them then it'll be the only Vita Tales games we'll ever get in the west. Which is fine, but if you're a fan of the series like me then it's a bit of a shame since there's another one just waiting. |
Yeah, sorry, I meant HEARTS. ;)
And that alone tells you how much uninvolved I am with Namco's products.
That said, I want to state again that that game is not completely out of my radar. I'll get it used someday, as I'll give a try to Xillia or Zesteria, too.
But at the time of the poll, I was looking elsewhere, and still am. Unfortunately, it's the wrong direction, because it's Sega.

Irate Warriors would be a great name for an Ikari Warriors rip off.

Black Friday. I don't actually believe those numbers though. Sony haven't been shipping Vita's to the USA, don't see why sales would suddenly spike when there's hardly any stock. |
??
Ever since the beginning of October Vita shipments in the US have been fairly steady. The Best Buy district I work in (~12 stores} has 100+ Vita's available right now since we just got another shipment in this week. My store in particular has been selling Vita's at a pretty good clip as well, I beleive I counted 3 being sold in one day a few days ago actually which is a miracle.
All anectodal of course but Vita's stock situation in the US seems to be much better than what it was in the summer.

PlayStation Vita Japanese Software Sales (Media Create Physical/ Famitsu Digital)
With Grim Fandango Remastered, Broken Age and DOTT Special Edition coming to the Vita... which other Double-Fine-Port would you be happiest about?
Costume Quest 1, Costume Quest 2, Iron Brigade, Psychonauts, Stacking or The Cave?
I would love to see Psychonauts on the Vita... one of the funniest games ever! I just played the first levels on my windows tablet with the controller-extension... works fine, but the framerates are all over the place from 10 to 100 fps... better optimized on the hardware solid 30 fps should be possible on the Vita.

Massive Chalice.
I'd LOVE to see Psychonauts on Vita. Being an Xbox game originally too it's probably about the right technical fidelity to be able to get up and running smoothly on Vita.
It seems quite brave waiting for Tales of Hearts: R to be pre owned. I don't think they've done a particularly big production run of it and you generally tend to find these are the sorts of games which are fetching more money later down the line than they originally sold for.
