Just got a new most anticipated game of 2014... Tabletop Racing from Ripstone (Pure Chess/Backgammon Blitz/Stick it to the Man) developed by Playrise. Looks a bit like Micro Machines which is only a good thing and from the video looks like it may well run at 60fps despite having some very nice looking visuals.

It looks really cool! (Or maybe it's just that the crates remind me of Crash Badicoot )

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Oh man, don't do that! If there is one genre, I thought that I have enough games for on the Vita already, it was racing games:

Wipeout 2048, Ridge Racer, NfS Most Wanted, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (PS+), Modnation Racers: Road Trip (won), MotorStorm RC (cross-buy) and even Crash Team Racing (PS1 classic).

Now I want "Tabletop Racing"... and I am not even that into racing games. ;)

Racing games are my favourite. You should get WRC4 while you're at it :p

The most notable thing on the list of racing games you've fired off is how they are all completely different styles of racing game. And Tabletop racing again, different. I love how well rounded the Vita release list has shaped up to be. It's not really overly dominated by a specific type of game.

Rofl, what's with the Crash Bandicoot crate design?  Lol.

Micro Machines be damned.  Circuit Breakers is where the real pros raced tiny cars on PS1!  Funnily enough, about 2 months ago I started playing that game again and had an absolute blast with it.

God, the PS1 had so many goddamn awesome games.  I wish Sony would work a bit harder getting them up on PS1.

But anyway, if this game turns out anything like that, they've got themselves a sale.  I'll probably buy it anyway just because I want to support Ripstone actually.

And if there's one genre I wish Vita was getting more of, it's racing games.  Between my Vita and my PSP I've decided that apart from 3D platformer & JRPG's, there's nothing I'd rather play on a handheld.  Works so well in small doses having a race or two here or there; and you can really push the graphics on a handheld too by having them in confined tracks, which is fine by me.

Uff.  Get working on Vita, Codemasters.  Kinda wish we were getting more street racing games too.

And one final thing I wanted to say.  I know this is kinda weird, but I've noticed that indies have started filling gaps in the market which used to be on PSP at retail but have now become download only.  Puzzle platformers like Exit and Crush existed on PSP and were retail releases, but we just get them as download-only releases from indies on Vita now.  That new trailer reminded me a lot of Pocket Racers for PSP.  So we are getting a lot of the content PSP got, just not in the same format anymore.

Anyway, yes.  Thanks for sharing, Mike!

P.S. HURRY UP AND MAKE VTRAX, SUPER ICON!  I still can't believe they went ahead with that stupid indoor sports game instead of this.

Talking about racing games... I would love a HD version of Burnout Legends, loved the crash mode:

a Burnout HD collection would be up there with my most wanted game more so if it was also coming to Vita. :(

Vitachartz, I need help.

Basically, after thinking about it for ages I just bought a PS3 this week (£100 for a 320GB Slim, 2 DS3s and 12 games), so for PS3/V multis I now have access to both versions. Now in some cases that isn't a problem because I know exactly which version I want (Rayman Legends for example I will eventually get on Vita because of dat OLED and dem colorz)

However, I'm really conflicted about FFX HD - I've been playing Ni No Kuni on PS3 these past few days and it's been amazing, first time I've played a JRPG on a home console, however I'd kind of like to show support for Vita games. That said I don't like having X-2 digital only on Vita because I'll have to buy a new memory card which will make it more expensive than it is already (right now the Vita version is £30 on amazon but on PS3 it's only £24)

I really don't know what to do, anyone else in the same boat? I already gave in on Dragon's Crown and bought PS3 because it was just £19 in an HMV last-gen clearance. At the minute I'm leaning towards PS3 and I'll just make up for my unfaithfulness by buying Ys, Danganronpa, P4G, Toukiden etc. when they come out, but we'll see.

Thing is so I can really delve into the PS3 catalogue I've set myself a limit of no more than £15 on a single game, so my funds will last longer, so I probably won't be able to buy those for a ver ylong time unless I come into some more money and can make an exception, but who knows

Oh well, first world problems and all that :)

Well, You have to consider that PS3's have betterresolution and probably best looking textures (not that great over vita though...) But Vita have OLED screen.. on the negative, even with the new models on PS3 you will note the polional stuff and the plain textures of old gens.

I personally will play it on Vita, is my main system rigth now for multi Ps3/Ps4/Vita games...

If You don't want FFX-2 digital, there's the import option, the double pack in PlayAsia is at 85$ and have BOTH games in physical, and I think that it includes English.. Even I'm considering this version...

About that table racing, lloks grat, but I would like it mor if it's with a normal racing camera from behind the car, i don't want a over the top camera like Motorstorm RC..

I just realised that VitaTest video was uploaded by Nick Burcombe, who had been at Psygnosis since early in the PS1 era with WipEout 1. What a legend. Now I'm even more hyped.

edit: And fuck, Tim Wright (aka Cold Storage) is doing the soundtrack.  For a tabletop racing game, it's got an impressive pedigree.

edit 2: Oh, it's already out on iOS.  Looks decent though.

Have you seen the AC Liberation comparison shots? It's a comparison of the PC version (1920x1080) with the Vita-version (812x460, I think that was the native resolution before it was slightly upscaled).

Some news outlets add their watermark but don't change anything else:

Others have shrunk the "Full Size"-version of the images, so that the image section of the Vita-version has a PSP-ish resolution and looks like sh*t! :(

And the commenters sneer at the vita-version, not realizing that the resolution difference between Vita and  360/PS3 will be much smaller than on the comparison shots.
