Killzone should never have been greenlit for handheld, the entire concept was stupid.

Are you trying to say Killzone Mercenary is a bad games?

Depends how you look at it.  It is on the wrong platform, a competitive shooter is not suited for a handheld, in addition to that because it is on a handheld it is very gimped compared to full console Killzone games.  Since to be in a situation where you have good enough wifi to play online you'd likely have a console nearby also, it makes the entire concept of a handheld competitive shooter pointless.

Is it a bad game though?  Well, for a handheld no, on handheld it is fine, just pointless.  On a home console though it is poor compared to other home console Killzone games.

Oh, GrumpyDog is back! You are just wrong and I think we can leave it at that.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

So, Final Fantasy X/X-2, is it 100% confirmed to be International Sphere Grid? I remember people SAYING it was, but I never once saw an official announcement from Square-Enix or any proof.

So, is it? I'll be buying it anyway, but I still want to know!

Yes, it is the international verion of the game. The game will also include Eternal calm and The last mission.

Don't hate the truth!

The sales of CoD:BOD and the fact that KZ:M is by far the best selling 2013 Vita game in the West beg to differ.

A game that was bundled and included in black friday sales, and forced to add the qualifiers of '2013' and 'in the West'.  Also ignoring the fact KZ:M sales numbers are actually crap however you try and spin it with qualifiers.

I think you kiled your own argument.

You must be kidding.

- It was bundled in Europe, but the bundled sales AREN'T included in the VGC numbers, cause these are just download codes.

- BF sales - every single game that can compete with KZ:M in sales got even bigger pricecuts. KZ:M is actually more expensive now than it was day 1, which I think is just crazy.

- Adding the qualifier of a whole year (so more than half of Vita's life!) is pushing something? Just lol.

- The same goes for "in the West" - because it's a game typically for the Western crowd and can't count on sales in Japan. But ok - there were just three games this year that sold better if you include Japan, all of them were hunting games. Still, not a single Vita hunting game ever came even close to the sales of the other competitive online FPS on Vita - CoD. If anything, that would imply that hunting games and fps shooters are equally important genres, surely not that fps games aren't suited for it or are a bad fit.

So you are obviously just nitpicking to try and defend your flawed argument.

The sales numbers are low not because there is something wrong with this game. Tearaway did even worse and it's a perfect fit for a handheld, all other games did worse as well. The problem is that Sony is totally neglecting Vita and p*ssing on it in the West - this has to be said. They have released just 2 games for the West this year and they came at the very end of the year, so people who picked Vita up last Christmas just got bored with it and no longer care, just like Sony doesn't seem to care. The total lack of games for long months just killed any momentum Vita has created last year with ACIII:L and CoD and these consoles are just collecting dust at this point. You need at least one noteworthy game a month to keep people interested and this can't be just an indie game.

The bottom line is - not a single other game did better, so your argument deserves only to be thrown in a trashcan.

Do the figures for Killzone: Mercenaries include download or are they physical only?

I ask this because it was shown that, in Japan, this game got the higher download ratio. The dowloads accounted for about one third of the total sales (about 33%)... If this is true in the West as well, and if the salesfigures don't include digital, the true sales should not only be higher that those, but MUCH higher (let's say from 140,00 units to 210,000).

Sorry for beeing super absent in the last couple of days.

I´m super busy right now, I write my exams on the 13th and have to learn this (almost) comically huge amount of cell biology-stuff right now.

Playing Guacamelee and Metal Gear Solid 2 on the Vita is probably the only thing that keeps me sane.

I love it, the display is fantastic, the analogue sticks need some time to get used to them (when you are coming from a 3DS) but are good to.

Glorious handheld masterrace.

Physical only,Vgchartz doesn't account for digital sales.

Hopefully both Tearaway and Killzone mercenary sold good digitally.

Your argument seems to be the Vita is just bad overall.  Since KZ:M would be covered in 'overall', nothing I said is wrong.

No it's not, what you said in first post was wrong.

I'm downloading P4G but my Vita won't stay in sleep mode for some reason...
