"It will happen if they assasinate Ron Paul, just like they did another opposition leader in Benazir Bhutto"

Uhh this kind of stuff already happened in America. Robert Kennedy was assassinated and the country didn't disintegrate. And Ron Paul's importance, though magnified by the internet and it's never-ending stock of immature man-children, remains minuscule at best. His appearances on news programs are akin to Jack Hannah on the Today Show carting out the strange new baboon he found in Madagascar. A sideshow freak, nothing more.

And by all means ssj12, attack the government. I mean physically. Get your guns and storm the Capitol! Start the revolution now! Take control of the White House with your ragtag militia. Do it now! I promise they won't use all their new weapons on you when Unnamed but armed people who may or may not be American Citizens shoot up the place.

Edit:  Ugh, this guy's a MOD here?  Where are the standards?  Did he get through some kind of low-IQ affirmative action program?

ssj12, this is the most stupid thread I've ever seen on VGchartz. Its scary how much of an idiot you are. The United States isn't even in a recession. Yes, there is a credit crisis in the housing markets but, we have gone through a bunch of depressions and made out just fine. I really don't know how you are a mod. Thank god most of your articles are just copied and pasted, because when it comes to your opinion, it shows what a poor education you have received.

Pardon my language but...

That doesn't even make any fuckin' sense.

Yeah. That's basicaly what I was going to say. A war like that wouldn't ever happen until the middle class was completely wiped out, or until something like the patriot act gets thrown up into the 10th degree and get all big brother on people. Pretty much the country would have to either lose it's democratic roots, or lose the middle class putting the rich in control of absolutely everything. Even then, i think the facism route is the only one that would spark a revolution in our times. The other way would probably just lead to a third party splitting off from either the repubs or dems. Or a combination of both. (Hooray a move back to responsible spending)

Wow no it wont happen. The US is one of the most stable countries in the world. Economically speaking the housing crisis is only affecting maybe 1M Americans and those ppl arent losing their homes only their second or thrid homes that they were trying to flip and make a profit from. Second gas prices are high everywhere. People will just not buy gas if they can afford it. That actually is a good thing for people and the environment bc it helps increase investment into alternative fuels. If you mean a cultural revolution it could happen. But America simply does not have any actual internal wars cept for the Civil War. The others were just social, economic revolutions if an economic and environmental revolution is what you are suggestiing it could happen bc in America we are free to chose and think what we want bc we have a bill of rights. Unlike many other countris im not naming any.

"Like you know"

US citizens vs US government isnt that wat every election is? and we already had a second revolution it was the war of 1812. Someone please read a freeking history book.

Bhutto was going to be taking power in a country rife with terrorists that opposed everything she claimed to stand for.

Ron Paul is a punchline. He is going nowhere in the election, and won't have a substantial pull as a 3rd party candidate (though he could be a Nader-like spoiler). There's simply no reason for anyone to assasinate him.

You're never going to have a revolution, and the basic reason can be described by the boiled frog experiment. Basically, if you set a frog in a pot of water and increase the temperature gradually, you can actually get the frog to not notice the change in temperature and actually boil it alive.

Same is true for the government right now. If someone came into power and just tossed out the bill of rights, there would be a major uprising, but no one does that. There are always new laws and regulations pass that are designed to specifically to chip away at the various freedoms. We're allowed to own guns, but only certain types and we have to wait a minimum amount of time, get a permit if we want to carry concealed. Etc.
The new regulations are always spaced out so that we have time to have already grown accustomed to the old changes. By the time they actually get to the point that we really do need a revolution, no one will have the capability to do it.

1. What's true of frogs ain't necessarily true of people.

2. It's actually not true of frogs.
