Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Forza 4 will boast a polygon count of over 1 million compared to 400,000 in Forza 3?

Very clear to the world that its easily more detailed and way better lighting than gt5. Graphics are much more well real. Aside from that the driving should be great as well. After all forza has a great name where car handling is concerned. Cannot wait. Best racing franchise this gen returns better than ever.

I tend to agree with you, despite what everyone else is saying. I would've loved to say GT5 shits on Forza, but that just isn't true anymore. Your move Polyphony.

They can list whatever polygon numbers they want, their lighting engine is still years behind what GT5 has. Their ingame models still look worse, as you can see from ingame videos of Forza4. The cars still don't react in anyway to the surface of the road or bumps from other cars, once again its a car not a magic carpet.

But they still have many months left to go, so maybe they can fix the floating car problem.

You're right, their new lighting model sucks:

Well they boasted about the poly count with Forza 3 too but the game didn't turn out that impressive graphically. I ain't buying this now. It doesn't matter how many fake polygons they use if the car still doesn't look that much better.

I didn't see anything wrong with Forza 3's graphics but if you say so. Game was pretty great too... I am rarely hyped for racing games but Forza 4 has me psyched. So much so that I will be ordering one of these as soon as I can.

that's something I can't stand about many racers, I don't care for sims, but many times there just so technically impressive, what'd be awesome is a new outrun with visuals on par with Forza or GT5

is that Ferarri picture real or graphics? o.O

If it was real the right mirror that is visible would actually have a shadow on the car......

if you're going to post a picture trying to demonstrate the graphics and lightning model, pick one where they get it right...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Im with you. I love outrun, ridge racer type of games over sims any day. I hated Forza 2, and GT4 before it...but Forza 3 managed to suck me in. It just really user friendly and you never feel lost or like you're missing out most of the game because of branching races.

The racing it self also isn't 100% sim like...but it ain't an arcade racer thats for sure.
