Last Year Nintendo had Donkey Kong Country, a 15 year old IP which was getting a reboot from Retro Studios. Kirby Epic Yarn was cool, a new Zelda was announced, Metroid: Other M, Wii Party, Pokemon Black/White, Golden Sun (another old IP), and some infor on the 3DS. although no new IP's were released, most of their IP's haven't seen a new interation within the last 3 years.

If Microsoft announced a Jade Empire 2, a new Conker, or given infor on Project Dragon or Steel Battallion, those wouls all be old IP's, but at least they haven't seen interations recently.

You can't show Halo Gears and Forza every year and expect people to be just as hyped.

I for one am freaking stoked by many of the annoucements made today. I know that the majority of fanboys on VGChartz lothe the Kinect, but there are over 10 million 360 owners that love the thing; myself included.  I enjoy being able to go completely Minority Report standing infront of my big screen tv all the time.   Dance Central 2? Thanks. Star Wars Kinect? Wicked.  Mass Effect 3 with Kinect enchancement? FTW. Kinect functionality on my dashboard and with Bing and Xbox Live TV?  F-U-C-K-Y-E-S.

Also, on the Xbox Live side of things.  Bing. Xbox Live TV. UFC content including the ability to order PPV (my fav!).  I am so glad I cancled my cable TV service.  We already have Hulu Plus and Netflix, and now that UFC PPV's are going to be streamable I doubt I will ever want a cable box again.

As for the games.  I love Halo; I still play Reach frequently, so the news of not one, not two, but 4 new Halo games simply leaves me stoked.  ME3 w/ Kinect brightens my day.  Gears of War 3.. yes yes and yes. Dance Central 2 looks amazing. 

Overall, I know for a fact that I will not have enough time to enjoy all the new media services and all the badass gaming coming my way this year.  That is beyond a good thing.. it is freaking marvelous!

I'm starting to feel like because I dont care for Kinect, I should stop looking for new exclusive titles from Microsoft. It seems MechWarrior is back to being dead, thanks MS for crushing my dreams. I mean, Gears and Halo are great but is that all they are going to do every year? Everything else that was there is 3rd party and can be gotten in other places.

Here are my thoughts.

Good:

Halo 4 (best thing in the show!)

Kingdoms which looked so badass and with sick graphics

Halo Remake

Forza 4

Dance Central 2 with 2 players

The New dashboard

The new Fable looked pretty sick

Minecraft for the 360

Gears 3

Cool Kinect integration with core titles like Future Soldier and Mass Effect 3

Kinect Labs has some potential

Bad:

Aviators

Fist Bombing

Too much time spent on Multiplat games

No price drop announcement (seriously WTH is up with this?)

Abysmal acting

Overall its their best conference in years and it looks like I will be getting a Kinect before the end of the year now!

I understand; wonder what Sony and Ninty will show. BTW, was there any clap or reaction to the games announced? or the whole show was pretty quiet?

Boring as a prehistoric rock. Kinect stuff was good, for those who like to play with it.

Star Wars Kinect got the biggest clapping and pretty much everything got at least a decent amount of clapping....there was WAY more clapping then in the past 2 years for MS's E3.

im proud to own a kinect i could care less if i get trolled and yes im a core player , i liked the conference only downside was :( no project draco , codename D or Nightmare demos or videos and also for me star wars kinect looked so crappy as hell

Well, I read some comments around the web that says the "claps" were recorded... Or people hoping for a new free xbox...

Where is the Xbox silverlight app integration with Windows Phone 7???? Argh! Another few exclusive hardocre games would be nice too... at least a Left 4 Dead 3 or an Alan Wake 2.....
