Damn! I didn't select a Forum so it erased my original message. What are your thoughts on Microsofts E3 Press Conference?

To be clear MS announced 2 core 360 exclusives, and 6 new Kinect exclusives:

• Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition
• Halo 4

and for Kinect

• Dance Central 2
• Disneyland
• Fable: The Journey
• Kinect Sports: Season 2
• Minecraft (XBL)
• Sesame Steet: Once Upon a Monster (don't think this was officially announced before)

and Project Kingdoms becomes Ryse

However 17 announced exclusive Kinect games (14 for 2011) were not talked about. On the list of missed games there is: Project Dragon, Gears of War: Exile, Steel Batallion, Rise of Nightmares, Heavy Fire: Afghanistan, Codename D, Robots Dance Central, Doodle Jump, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Haunt, Hole in the Wall, Kinect Me, Kinectalloons, Lets Dance with Mel B, Michael Phelps, The Gunslinger, and Wipeout in the Zone.

Overall though, has 360 become Kinect? Did MS forget about core gamers, or are third party games enough to satisfy?

I personally am disapointed. 360 to me has become Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable and Kinect. I'm not a fan of Fable, and I was really hoping to see Project Kingdoms become a proper core title. Also since Kinect's lineup is meh, I'm not tempted to get one. However for those who have a Kinect, 360 doesn't look too bad, but a lot of great Kinect titles were ignored alltogether. Also there was no Forza or Halo demo, and Gears 3 isn't enough for exclusive demos. Halo 4 at the end just barely saved the show to me, but overall im disappointed.

Edit: Also no word on prior announced core 360 exclusives such as XCOM, MechWarrior, etc

Pretty lame conference, just some Kinect games, more Halos and a lot of non-exclusive games...

I know a lot of people dislike the conference, but I think it was just "good". Not the best, but also not awful like E308 Nintendo Conference....

Had Microsoft announced a non-Halo exclusive game, and maybe shed some light on it's more "core" kinect titles like Project Dragon, Steel Battallion, Rise of Nightmares, and HEavy Fire: Afghanistan, it could have been a good showing. Ghost Recon showed potential for Kinect hardware to mainstream gamers. However this never happened. It was an okay showing, but outside of Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable and Kinect, MS really has nothing. How many years can they sustain themselves on just that?

I mean would it really have been that difficult to strike up a deal with some developer to make a new IP of the same quality as LEft 4 Dead or Lost Odyssey? Project Kingdoms could have been so much more.

if you thought that they werent going to make new halo games youre insane, that conference didnt tell me anything that i wanted to know. if i had to mark the highlight of announcements it would be the peter pan flying game

Fantastic conference. My fave Microsoft conference ever. As a someone who loves life it was awesome to see the future of the living room. Loved all the kinect games for me and my family. I am seriously gonna hate using controllers for entertainment of any kind at peoples houses that don't have kinect. Microsoft are beginning to create a brand not just a games console. Imo shod is so far the only console truly preparing for the future in all entertainment in one place under the tv. From he films to live tv, it all works without a controller and all with discs. Fantastic.

Well done Microsoft.

Of course that could be better, but even Nintendo "won" last year with only established franchises. And well, the conference was not this...
