Yes, lets give Tomb raider the benefit of a doubt that it will be cool despite what they showed... Kinect however sucks with no hope of ever being worthwhile*.

^^^ FYI i dont think it sucks, i think its a good piece of tech, that IMHO is kind of limited in what types of games will work on it at the moment. So i understand why certain core games will not be used with it. My only issue is the whole voice chat thing for the core games, THere not really pushing the tech with those implementations and i dont see people rushing out to get it just for that.

having watched EA and ubisoft conferences I don't think so. there conference could have been better but there plan clearly all along has been to mostly to support Kinect and release a few well known core franchises. the rest is up to the 3rd party's. I think in E3 itself they may have lost but leading away from E3 the year will have went well for them. that is my opinion.

I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).

It focused on Kinect, which I have a ton of fun with, so it wasn't AS bad for me. Yet I still managed to be disappointed . . . sigh. New Fable, awesome . . . no wait, it's on rails. New game Ryse, awesome . . . except there was barely any gameplay. New HaloRemake, awesome . . . except that it may be $40. New Halo 4, awesome . . . except that it isn't out till 2012.

New Dance Central is cool.

Kinect features in Ghost Recon and ME3 are cool.

Don't care much for Kinect Sports.

Kinect fun labs looks creepy, Star Wars game needs massive work, Disney game will be a huge hit.

New features were cool, and tons of people will love them, but that really isn't any excuse for so few game announcements.

C- Overall. Could've been worse. At least it didn't have any Cammy.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

This is true.  Unfortunately it did have Kudo...

Was it really that bad?

I mean, Bing voice search across all streams of media on Xbox Live will sell more 360 units than any bombshell "exclusive". With this lineup and features, Kinect will annihilate this holiday season.

Not sure Sony or Nintendo can do much to change that, even if they announce 100 exclusives.

Bing voice search will sell bunk. If anything out of that will really move 360's to new audiences, it'll be Disneyland Adventures and possibly the Tim Schaffer Sesame Street one, but i don't see those features doing much of anything, except broadening the potential use of existing 360s (which will lead to expanded revenue in its own right, to be sure).

Mostly Microsoft needs to refine their presentation for Kinect. They're getting close, but bad actors onstage has always been a negative.

It's not a total failure, but its not what Microsoft needed to make up for their lack of new hardware in this run

I politely disagree. I know so many people that use Xbox for media streaming and when they show their freinds voice search on Netflix, people will eat it up. Hell, I want kinect just for that...And for scanning shit lol. Star Wars looked kinda lame but I want to try it for shits and giggles and Kinect Sports 2 looks fun.Mass Effect 3 looked really good too with Kinect.

Kinect really has a double standard around here.  MW3 and Tomb Raider which seemed as much "on rails" as any Kinect game shown. And people will be raving about those 2 for months to come.

To be fair, we dont know thats even possible and likely not. The same way we control the XMB with Move but not the netflix menu. So at this point it pretty much just allows us to search but we dont know how far it goes. Also, i find it odd that it identified "X-Men" as such through voice recognition, hiphenated and all on the demo......ill watch and see what happens im less enthusiastic about the bvoice recognition as i am about just simply searching a console/internet/Live Marketplace with one tool to be honest, its very cool and i love the limited voice recognition on my iphone, however its just an "added" thing, not enough to revolutionize my living room.

Lol true, but for a very short time, and Cammy makes him look like Morgan Freeman in terms of standability.

No, Nintendo or Sony can lose it if they announce bad new consoles/handhelds. As far as games go, I'm pretty sure both will show better stuff than MS, but failing on the new platforms would be a big problem...

Nevertheless, this was a terrible E3 conference by Microsoft.

Pretty horrible conference from Microsoft - no megatons or "wow" factor at all.

The more I see about Kinect, the less I like it (except some things I believed since the start it could be the best control system for). But I can put my tastes apart and say that IMHO MS did its sums: Sony is focusing its motion control on more hardcore games, Nintendo wants to get some hardcore market it overlooked with Wii back, the end result is that some shares of the casual market could be made available for MS to grab.
