Forums - Gaming Discussion - Redbox game rentals coming soon

Forgive if this is old info, but I passed by a redbox today and it said "Games coming soon!"

If it's still $1/day to rent games from Redbox, this is going to be great. For $1, you'll be able to play and preview a game to decide if you'd like to buy it, and if the game is super shot, hold it for a few days and beat it outright.

I for one am looking forward to this service!

Its not going to be $1 a day rent.

$2 a day will probably be the minimum.

do you know for sure, or just assuming that?

it is 2 a day. Good deal still. If you go their webpage and go to check out a game it will tell you the price. They have already started in some locations.

Damn not available in my area yet, but thanks for the heads up.

we've already had redbox rentals since september in my area. The rentals are $2 a night and they have a limited selection. You can see what they currently have on www.redbox.com/games

They usually get most of the top games. That said, it takes a few days to beat most games. If you can't beat a game in less than 1-4 days, it is a better deal to rent at Blockbuster for $8.99 for a 5-day rental.

Lately, I just wait for a bunch of games I want to play then I get 1-month of Blockbuster pass for $21.99. Lots of strategies to go about this. Gamefly sounds cool, but I don't know how easy it is to get the new releases.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

It's a good deal if you pick games you can finish off in 2 to 4 days.

Im thinkin moreso to try out a game, to see if its worth owning, beforehand. $2 to play the crap out of a game, and either find out you love it or hate it, is better than $50 =)
