I'm not a particularly huge fan of electronic music out in the wild, but sometimes it'll really grab me. That was pretty good. 6.5 on the radio. 7.5 while playing Hotline Miami.

I'll take that lol, although the genre you're looking for is nu metal, they're very strong with the hip hop vibe in a lot of their songs.
As for the song you've just posted; 4/10. Instrumentals are fine, sounds like your typical indie rock band, but the vocals... Kurt Cobain lite edition?
Here, have a listen to TOH covering a pop song, lol;
Lol I know what nu metal is, it's a well known genre, I was just trying to describe it beyond "it's just a nu metal song" ....
And uhhh ... Unwound ... "typical indie rock" ? Kurt Cobain Lite? .... I'm not saying this because I like them, but those descriptions don't even make sense. There's nothing really typical about it, and I listen to a ton of indie rock. I guess maybe they inspired post 2000's rock but it's not "typical". If anything the standard sound of an indie rock band is like Franz Ferdinand or even late era Modest Mouse. They are indie rock, but that's a pretty generalized term for a ton of rock music .... lol. Anyways, opinions opinions opinions.
That song you linked was okay, again like a 5/10.
People will probably rate this low because it's a very short instrumental track but I always thought it was kind of cool for what it was :
Actually they do... in terms of the instrumentals, it's what I'd expect to hear from an indie rock band, nothing out of the ordinary, not saying they're bad, and I do like indie music too, I guess it just depends on which bands we're comparing them to. As for the vocals... I used the term Kurt Cobain Lite simply because they're very similar in how they sing, sort of like a whine or a moan at the end of certain words etc. When I was listening to the vocals, it actually reminded me of In Bloom too, so y'know, that's why I went to him, lol.
You say they do, I say they don't. I think the fact that you stretched it to "Kurt Cobain Lite" is pretty self-explanatory as to the accuracy of those descriptions : P . But like I said, opinions I guess. I don't want to derail the thread.
