it's the X-Box as in formerly a box as in it's now more than a box. I'd have gone with "The artist formerly known as Box" but hey whatever I guess theirs is easier to say.. I also always saw the 360 as a complete turn around if you look at the first xbox it had a hill going on where it widened at the middle, the 360 is more inverted in the middle so it kinda did a 360 and sucked in it's fat gut!

The statement is that Nintendo and Sony go "bawk," and thus, are chickens. I'm not sure what genius came up with that idea, but it sounds like something Microsoft would do.

OT:
I think that since Xbox 360 it's so damn different than the original Xbox, they used the 360 degrees thing...as to say that they knew what they did wrong 1st gen, but managed to turn the table around this time :D

No no, you have it all wrong. BOX is clearly an acronym for Big Ol' X. Which is what you find all over XBOX stuff. The 360's there as a statement of how many Big Ol' X's they plan to stick on their peripherals. Sadly, they seem to be about 359 short of this lofty goal for most of them.
