Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which MMO do you prefer?

The MMO I prefer is RuneScape. I've been playing it for 5 years and yes it does get boring, but something always keeps me playing. There are the crappy updates and the economy is horrible. I'm glad the bots and the annoying dicers are gone. I also prefer the MMO Transformice. It's a fun trolling kind of game. It's basically anime you say, but it is fun. It depends basically what your into.

Sometimes  I lay on my bed and pretend to be a carrot.

I don't really play MMOs these days, but I used to play Guild Wars. But after putting more than 2500 hours, I got bored.

Guild Wars 2 looks like it will be the most awesome game to hit the MMO genre in a long, long time though! Visit the official thread if you're interested.

Oh wow. 2500 hours is like oh wow. I mean if you played it for 8 hours a day which is like a full time job. It must take you over 300 days of just playing the game to get there. Almost of a year of life playing the game. In a way that is very impressive and in a way not so much. Anyways cheers and happy near year. My friend is really exited about guild wars 2 also. I just asked him and he put 1600 hours into it. Seems like time flies. :)

It sure does. I just checked my latest stats, and I actually hit 2750 hours. It's not all play time though, some times it just runs in the background. But yeah, still a lot. xD

Not playing anymore MMO's UNTIL EverQuest 3 releases.

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

"Welcome to Pain, the second of three...You have dealt the first...now deal with me!!"

For some odd reason, the only MMO I can stand playing would be Maplestory. It comes in burst though. Right now I haven't touched it for a few months, but sometime ill probably come back and play it for a while then get bored again.

Since I stopped playing WoW. I'd say Runes of Magic and Final Fantasy XI

Action-Arcade MMO

Most mmos in the late 90s to the early-mid 00s are just rehashed of the point-and-click formula. Potions don't have cooldown, Pvp and PvE are entirely dependent level and gears. Even with the implementation of Guild/Nation Wars where composition of a team plays a part, it does not offer an engaging gameplay with sufficient depth for the players.

The first arcade-action MMO I'd play was Lunia. It's a korean game. Up till today, the pvp aspect this game had once offered still best many current ones I had tried, although to be fair, I'm fairly out of touch. Zoning, Sidestep, Shifiting, Half-Dash, Skill-Cancelling, Combo-ing with precision and timing, Wake-up mind games, First hits etc. are some of the heaviest focuses of their Pvp aspect. It's a game where Spammers find it hard to break into the top bracket of players. The best Pvper for NA server was Xpecial, who move on to TeamSoloMid in League of Legend.

Unfortunately, like every game which became popular, it was heavily casualised for the mainstream audience.

And yes, the Koreans are extremely good players.

Do not allow yourself to be blinded by fear and anger. Everything is only as it is.
