ROCK ON WII! :D :D

Looks like advertising finally grabbed the public attention. I said 140k for this week. Maybe my 200k prediction could be right?

EDIT*

ConsoleWeekly (change)Total
Wii 18,946 ( 175%) 7,946,623

That's the UK figures. Goes to show advertising helps, eh?

I don't know if Wii will increase in America WoW since the pricecut had a full week there compared to  one day of sales for Europe. It should be atleast 160k WW though. Heck that would put it first, something we haven't seen for ages. Wii first!? Think about that!

And that UK boost is a big boost.

Edit:

I haven't checked last year's data but I think despite Wii will be down YoY despite the boosts. >_>

In the UK, we had a full week, but adverts only really started this week. It's doutful, but maybe it could go up, again? I mean, Brian Blessed is selling it now FGS

EDIT**

Last year-

Wii 97,261 ( 14%) 27,028,622

This year-

Wii 98,134 ( 94%)

33,477,174

That's up people! You read that correctly:

Wii is UP YoY

i'm terrible at math as of now, what is the percentage?    ;)

Around about 1%. Nothing to write home about.

I'm using VGC numbers, as well Zlejedi

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Wii sales are up more than i expected, i wonder how they will go next week -- the console is $177 with mario kart here in Australia (atleast that is what eb games is selling it for i think the official RRP is $180. For comparision 360 is $400 to $450 and PS3 is $500 to $600 here, so the price drop could have a reasonble effect here (IIRC Wii was $248 at most retailers with a $288 RRP pre-price drop).

lol, you answered my jackass comment!   **hugs**  well, ps3 backlash as promised.

but in all seriousness, wii will be the only console with respectable numbers week.   i said i expected flat wii numbers WoW (up EMEAA and down in Americas) but i don't think it will be possible not to be up this week by a good margin now.

It's OK. I wanted to write that it was only 1% anyway.

And please let go. You're hugginh too tight

I'm amazed just how much it went up, though. I wonder how much advertising went off in America? Because Wii's price cut happened in the Uk on the 15th (I think) so pretty much all week was at the new price, yet it was up well over 100% WoW. Why? I reckon advertising. So maybe it can be up in America as well, or, at least not down more than 20%...

my guess would be that stores still have a lot of wii sports bundles they need to sell, so they also received the price cut

nice job Wii back on top!

Very nice week! Gratz to Wii, first again after so many weeks, good all the others too.

SW good, considering that last week there were far bigger launches, just a 9% drop overall is not bad.

Wii has a nice SW boost, but smaller than its HW one.
