Link, to me, is King Arthur from the whole Knights of the Round Table series with equal doses of Peter Pan. Link appears the same age range in every Zelda game. I may be wrong on this last point and correct me if there is a Zelda game where Link is either married or old.

Whether Link is a monk who is one with his sword or just another precocious teenage boy with an incredible luck streak, he gets the job done in Zelda. Anymore and we are talking a Mario vs. Link, Link vs. Batman, Link vs. Spawn, and on type hypotheticals best reserved amongst friends and a case of beer.

As for popular, yes Link is up there with Mario when it comes to GameFAQs annual popularity contest polls.

If he goes up against Kratos, he dies.  Considering Kratos has been impaled with so many things and even chopped in half in past games, yet still lived.  Theres not much Link could do.

Link is vulnerable to electricity, so he would get epic stomped by Cole from Infamous (going by the newest link vs thread)

Infact, the only powerful character that Link might be able to stomp, is Mario.

Kratos has been pwned so many more times, but due to convenient bad writing he has managed to come back everytime. Link has never been pwned in a fight and he never will. I'm a Sony fanboy and even I  can admit Kratos is a shit character and would get his shit wrecked in a legit fight between Link. Plus Nayru's Love makes him invincible so....

a child/teenager in green who allways just happens to get a shield and sword then save the world vs 300 pounds muscular steroid freak god-slayer who just won't stay dead and rips out limbs like they're made of paper?
