According to several gaming sites, Sony had very briefly discussed the yet-to-be-announced Syphon Filter 4 on their forums before removing the post an hour later.

The post, apparently, revealed that the game was being developed using a new engine at SCE London. The expected release date for Syphon Filter 4 was said to be Q4 2012.

Not content with the brief leak, site VG247 attempted a snoop operation and discovered five Syphon Filter related domains: SyphonFilter-Game.com, SyphonFilterAgency.com, SyphonFilterCommand.com, SyphonFilterHq.com and SyphonFilterOps.com. All of them were owned by Sony Computer Europe.

Well, E3 is upon us, so we can expect a full-blown reveal soon.

Hmm NGP only or PS3 as well? If its NGP only hopefully it is a launch game. I want some good launch titles!

wow they really did it...Syphon Filter is officially back! ^^

i sense some awesome multiplayer features, and of course an awesome single player , since it has agency in it, then you will probably play as all the agents, i imagine its a more refined Omega Strain.

while the Ops one is going to be NGP related, like Combat Ops , maybe cross gameplay between PS3 and PSP.

oh and here is something to get nostalgia'd on

i've been waiting for this (along with Twisted Metal and jak and daxter) for quite awhile, its about time Sony moved their asses a bit.

And I suppose Syphon Filter Command will be the website where you can have a look at your online stats or something, like they had in Killzone
